Head on the Door is a bit, sunny? for the Cure, decent album but not top 5 of theirs

It kinda pissed me off at the time as I'd followed The Cure from the start and then everyone and their mothers was buying In-between Days and the LP.

This was the first LP of The Cure's that I didn't buy. But I'd also been disappointed with The Top, which I still think is poor.

Surprised nobody went with this, and a band from Leeds too. Admittedly they dipped into sophisti-pop and it may have dated a little, and the singer was a bit pretty, but it's one I still dust down...

Don't mind a bit of Green Gartside but struggle with a whole album

The CD contains a bonus track, which is The Word Girl but featuring a reggae MC, Ranking Ann, rather than Gartside...and for me it's a great break from all his breathy singing!

I did see The Faith Brothers in 85, don't recall much about them, they supported The Alarm on the Absolute tour.
