Re: Joe Gelhardt
Gelhardt must be feeling a little disheartened at the moment,he's falling further and further down the pecking order. His chances of being a pl player is slipping away, with Leeds anyway.
Re: Joe Gelhardt
Reports suggesting a loan move to Blackburn. Think he would be a decent championship player but that's about it!

Re: Joe Gelhardt
Can’t help remembering some of the good stuff he did. The goal with Raph v Norwich, the poachers finish @ Chelsea & that dazzling skill on the touchline to set Pascal up. Still think he’s a prospect but a loan move is obviously best

Playing alongside Ben Brereton-Diaz is a sort of what-could-have-been given our previous interest in him. Seems like a good combo for Championship level and the volume of games at that level can only do him good. Bon chance, Joffy.

Blackburn certainly better than Millwall ... Our 21's will suffer though

Re: Joe Gelhardt
Tough club to walk into and play well, absolutely in a relegation battle. ... the familiarity of the surroundings might help though. That will make him the best player we have out on loan though ahead of James and Costa

Still young
Maybe finding it hard being away from his family?know his Mum was a regular at Elland Road but don't think they moved here because know she has another son who plays for a Merseyside team.
Might do him good.
Get some confidence back.

Re: Joe Gelhardt
Relegation battles can have toxic effects though on a club. Don't know Wigan FC well enough to say if they're dysfunctional or just unlucky to be where they are ..

I don't either.
But I like the idea of him helping the club that gave him a chance.

Re: Joe Gelhardt- Wigan loan close
Joe needs to go out on loan and play week in week out, in the summer we cab see if he is good enough for Leeds in the premiership

Re: Joe Gelhardt- Wigan loan close
The right thing for his career. I hope he bangs them in and improves his overall game and comes back to ER ready to take on the PL next season.
Re: Joe Gelhardt- Wigan loan close
Should be starting for Leeds more than good enough once he feels comfortable in the first team that's when you'll see the best of him
Re: Joe Gelhardt- Wigan loan close
Wow.
Rewind a year and the clamour for him to play, and the abuse directed at the last manager for not playing him, was constant. And contrasted with his mother's grateful note when he was sacked.
It seems like his development has gone off a cliff.
Obviously we have gone back to getting out the chequebook and buying instead of careful coaching.

Re: Joe Gelhardt- Wigan loan close
Loan is absolutely the right approach for Joffy and Leeds.
A run of 20+ games can only help his development.
If it brings him on 5% - 10% by the Summer he will be right back in the reckoning for us.
