Re: Robin Koch
If we go down (hopefully not) our back four next season could be:

Re: Robin Koch
I’d love to see him stay, it’s taken a while but for me he’s now the player I wanted to see. A good relationship with Wober (I wonder if speaking a common tongue has a role to play?), and now time to look up and play telling crossfield passes. Has Gracias system let him play his natural game?
Of course the moneybags will be looking at him, they’re all greedy bstds who want the other kids best toys. Go ask Kalvin.

WARNING: During game time, any post I make is not to be taken seriously, neither is it meant as offence. I'm a hot-blooded creature prone to moments of exasperation and expletive.

Our only defender who showed his true form & deserves any credit, not really responsible for the poor defending around him.

Re: Robin Koch
Agree and disagree. Agree with his quality. But he's our best player at the back. He should hold some responsibility for the defense as a whole.1964white wrote: ↑Mon Apr 10, 2023 8:42 pm Palace

Difficult to fault him for any of the goals, Andrewandrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Tue Apr 11, 2023 7:24 am Agree and disagree. Agree with his quality. But he's our best player at the back. He should hold some responsibility for the defense as a whole.
Koch's 28 defensive actions suggests he was overworked in comparison to those around him, his teammates didn't help Robin one bit. Without him, we'd probably had conceded double-figure goals on Sunday.
Re: Robin Koch
I gave him full points in MOTM thread for the reasons you stated.
It wasn’t difficult though, he had no competition.

Re: Robin Koch
I wasn't commenting on his personal contributions. I just think he needs to do more to take charge of the back line. It was long that Cooper was our only organizer at the back. Now it's Wober. With both those injured, we need someone else to be in charge. For all Koch's quality, he doesn't seem to want to take charge, organize, call others out.
Re: Robin Koch
Agree Andrew, we required someone to take charge, unfortunately it seems Koch hasn't got the necessary leadership skills we need right now.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Tue Apr 11, 2023 4:53 pm I wasn't commenting on his personal contributions. Re: Robin Koch
Who does have those skills out of our current squad?
Wober and Adams, cos I'm not convinced by all the trumpeting about Liam Cooper's leadership and organisation skills either.
We have experienced players in Ayling, Bamford and Rodrigo, what do they do when the going gets tough?

We need to sign a few players with a captain's mentality in the summer.White Riot wrote: ↑Tue Apr 11, 2023 5:53 pm Who does have those skills out of our current squad?

Re: Robin Koch
Yeah, I've been saying since we came up that this squad needs a good clean out.
Bring better quality players in with a better mentality and you'll see the difference.
We've already witnessed that with Gnonto, Adams and Wober.
I think McKennie will be a good un.
I hope, and still believe, that Rutter will develop into a great player too.
But since we got promoted a lot of our big money signings have not excelled, in the way that we'd hoped.
Which means you're then saddled with big wages and long contracts, and the squad deficiencies are still not addressed. Plus you've less capacity and resource available to address those deficiencies.
It's hard to recruit quality players of a good age when you're continually hanging around the drop zone. Plus, the players and agents will look at Leeds over the past few years and see that some of our international players are no longer considered for international duty.
Players have short careers, and ambitious ones won't fancy fighting a relegation battle every season.
Re: Robin Koch - the only one to show his true form!
28 positive actions from Koch against Palace.
