Shock of the season, certainly not a scoreline anyone could predict.

Not their biggest win this season though, the scousers beat Bournemouth 7-0.

For context this started with the fat Irish Liverpool fan talking about how no fanbase has been through the hardships Liverpool fans have (an astoundingly narrow minded statement in itself)
But he then says this

Since we seem to have kick-started Liverpool form after their 6-1 victory at ER, the scousers have won five consecutive games, taking them up to 5th place, a point behind scum.

Re: Liverpool Thread - Klopp ban!!!

Post by 1964white »

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has received a two-match ban for comments he made about referee Paul Tierney after his side's 4-3 victory over Tottenham in April.

It means the German will miss Sunday's match against Aston Villa at Anfield.

The second game is suspended until the end of the 2023-24 season, meaning Klopp will not miss the final game of this campaign against Southampton.

How strange :duno:

Well it's suspended so it would only come into play if Klopp "does it again" I'd imagine it's wiped clean end of 23/24 season if no further violations

Liverpool have completed a £35m deal to sign midfielder Alexis Mac Allister from Brighton on a five-year contract.

The fee could rise to £55m for the Argentina playmaker, who helped Brighton finish sixth in the Premier League this season to qualify for Europe for the first time.

The 24-year-old scored 20 goals in 112 appearances for the Seagulls and helped Argentina win the 2022 World Cup.

World Cup winner for the same price as we paid for Rutter - Orta had to be on an agents back-hander for that that one.

Brilliant bit of business for Liverpool and Brighton. Liverpool get exactly the type of player their midfield needs, and Brighton probably treble their outlay, and will undoubtedly already have a replacement lined up. We should be looking hard at how that club is run, certainly a better model than AR's infatuation with Leicester.

Don't disagree, but my football nap bet for next season is that Brighton will finish in a lower final position than last.
One reason: Europa League

I can see why you're going that way, Jim. First season of European competition takes a lot out of clubs, whatever their stature. Wouldn't be surprised to see Newcastle not be as successful next season, particularly if they make the group stages.
