Neville gets mocked for his Valencia spell, Gerrard gets praised.

Neville actually has a better points per game than Gerrard

Worse than Jesse Marsch's record with us as well.

One though is one of the favourites for the sack according to the media.

The other is an English media golden boy

Its all about how the media want to portray things, favourites/media darlings, Gerrard will do little with villa, hope they are relegated along with wolves, everton and moan utd.

Another media darling like Lampard. He will face zero criticism from the pundits.

Every season Villa are tipped to do really well by the pundits just because they spend loads of money, but every year they flop miserably. Really don't see what they've done to deserve being tipped as high as 8th I've seen?

Yeah me to.

Four four two magazine had them 8th I think it was.

Other have them top 10 despite Villa averaging 14h since promotion.

Its purely because of the money spent, raises expectations and then the Gerrard golden boy factor to.

Isn't just the media though.

Slippy G been well backed to be next to walk. Fallout with Mings. Stripped of captaincy and dropped the other day.

Aston Villa's new cb Diego Carlos has ruptured his Achilles tendon and will face a spell out of between 6-12months.

However with his age there is every possibility he won't ever get back to the levels of previous performances.

Watford forward Ismaila Sarr's proposed move to Aston Villa has fallen through.

The Senegal international was expected to move to Villa Park after the clubs agreed a deal worth about £25m.

However, it is understood complications arose over the structure of the move and 24-year-old Sarr's personal terms.

Villa trudge to their second victory of this season vs Southampton in the drabbest match of the weekend.

Come on Leeds, we have to beat this horrible lot in our next game.

Villa's midfielder Boubacar Kamara is likely to be out for about two months after suffering knee ligament damage - putting his involvement in the World Cup in doubt.

The France international has been one of Villa's best performers since joining on a free transfer from Marseille in the summer.

He suffered the injury in Villa's 1-0 win over Southampton last Friday.

"I'm worried about it," Villa boss Steven Gerrard said after the match.

"It seems like every time we get three points it comes with a cost."

Villa have only scored six goals in their eight games, not a surprise bearing how much time they waste, apparently the ball was only in play for less than 50 minutes in our game last Sunday.

Villa's six goals have come from six different scorers.

Villa unbeaten in four games, won one & drawn three.

Villa have only scored 7 goals in their 9 games this season.

How much have Villa spent on their attacking options?

Genuinely think this is the worst defensive header I've ever seen.

The fact Mings is even mentioned in the same sentence as our England World Cup squad shows what a joke our cb options are.

Leeds fans have an appropriate song for Mings whenever Villa face Leeds.

Mings & Maguire playing for England in the World Cup is a daunting prospect

It would seem Villa have the same goal-scoring problems as Leeds.

Seven goals in their first ten games.

They will improve eventually.

Money tends to rise in the end.

They have to much talent and very ambitious owners.

Gerrard will get the boot and they will appoint a big name and spend more and rise.

Villa will see success if at all long before we do unfortunately.
