Re: Everton Thread - Fwank fears relegation!!!!

Post by 1964white »

The promoted championship clubs will feel they have half a chance of staying up this season.

Everton, Southampton, Brentford, Brighton & a few more could struggle. Fans will be reading Leeds are 4th favourites to be relegated so we'll be in the mix too.

Watford & Norwich were certain to go down last season, Burnley was many fans favoured teams to go down as they had been tinkering with relagation far too long, maybe the dislike for Dyche came into the reckoning too.

Bournemouth & Fulham are my idea of two teams who'll go down as I don't rate their managers, also they haven't done much in the transfer market, in fact Fulham have sold their best young player to Liverpool.
Steve Cooper's Forest could be the surprise package, they scraped up, but have since made many recruitments during the summer. Whether they are good enough I don't know :duno: they'll certainly be more competitive now with a stronger squad.

It's not only about fitness......confidence & a winning mentality is always a good indication for the future season.
Very true. Go into the wolves game without another win and the atmosphere will be low as well as confidence. On the other hand a win before the wolves game and everyone is up for it. Makes a huge difference.

Everton have signed left back Ruben Vinagre on loan from Sporting.

They are also close to completing a £20million pound deal for Burnley winger Dwight McNeil who last season managed 1 assist in total from appearing in every Premier League game. . . .
Signed

Fancy that will turn sour for the Toffees.
Have Burnley got anyone left now?

Cornet & Taylor.

They'll be both snapped up by the end of the window.

I assume the policy is not signing players from English clubs unless they are for the U21/U23 set-up.

Crazy not to be looking at players on your doorstep, much easier for players geographically when signing for a new club.

Toffees have signed Burnley winger Dwight McNeil on a five-year contract in a deal worth about £20m.

20 million sounds like crazy money for a lad who had one good season a few years back. 1 assist and 0 goals from 35 starts last year is terrible. Sinisterra cost a little bit more so if he is ever fit let’s see who got the better value at the end of the year.

Strange club.

Everton have won two & lost two of their friendlies,

Dwight McNeil (£20m) their only money signing, unsure about him, inconsistent imo!

Everton confirm the signing of former Wolves Captain (and well known Liverpool fan) Conor Coady on loan.

They are expected to announce the signing of Midfielder Amadou Onana for a fee of around £33million and are progressing with a deal to bring former Everton Midfielder Idrissa Gueye back to Goodison for a fee of around £8.5mil.

Good signings all 3 tbf.

If those signings all go through despite the well reported financial issues Everton will have a higher net spend than us by a few million
