Does seem a very strange decision especially with it just being a loan (unless it is a loan with obligation to buy so it is just a way of Everton getting round fair play by not having to pay the transfer fee this year). Wolves are strengthening a team that may now finish above them. I definitely see both of these teams as potential relegation candidates so Wolves may have just strengthened a team that may end up sending them down instead.

I know Wolves signed Nathan Collins from Burnley for £20m, but I didn't expect him to replace Coady.weasel wrote: ↑Tue Aug 09, 2022 12:28 pm Does seem a very strange decision especially with it just being a loan (unless it is a loan with obligation to buy so it is just a way of Everton getting round fair play by not having to pay the transfer fee this year). Explains why their captain of four years was on the bench last Saturday.
Re: Everton Thread
Everton have signed Belgium midfielder Amadou Onana from Lille for £33m.
The 20-year-old was at Goodison Park on Saturday to watch Everton's 1-0 defeat by Chelsea in their opening Premier League game of the season.
West Ham were also interested in Onana and had agreed a fee for the player.
"It feels great to join Everton," he told EvertonTV. "I know it's a big, big club, one of the biggest in England. It's something I want to be part of for many years."

"I see someone lied to the kid and told him Everton are a 'big, big club'. It won't be quite like the brochure, lad"
Everton can make all these signings, but it is Lampard who is running the show and as long as that doesn't change, Everton will get nowhere.
The three week panic has started
Everton are definately going down this Season. The icing on the cake is that it will be fat Frank sinking this ship.
So true. Frank's getting sacked.
Everton again trying to 'win the window'.Need to try and win football matches. No excuses from now on Frank, that honeymoon has gone.
One of the biggest clubs in england. how much battery acid has this dude drank. clearly his delusion matches fat frankies
Everton are still gonna struggle unless they bring in a couple of top forwards to replace Richarlison & with DCL out injured. Still too many players in the team that are not good enough to start like Iwobi, Alli & Gray.
Who? £33 million.
It won't do them any good. Everton are Relegation fodder this season. They avoided relegation by the skin of their teeth last season. They may not be so lucky this season.
Just wait till Onana hears the Booing. Then he will regret it.
First forest and now Everton beating us to a signing. How bad are our wages or first impressions that players are choosing relegation fights over European football?!
Frank Lampard was key to him joining? That manager who has won so much silverware as a manager and has taken Everton to the dizzy heights of just above the relegation zone? They need more than one player if they want to compete for the top 7
The prices are ridiculous, 33m for a player no one has heard of?
Everton need to be sued. They breached FFP after claiming colossal covid losses, more than any other club. They used the excess money to stay up last year and now this. I hope they get relegated.
OMG, 1 goal in 32 games for Lille . Are you kidding me frank ?
Everton like villa are going to struggle because they have 2 overrated managers. No doubt footballing greats but not managers for top clubs. Had they not been media darlings they'd be getting slated in the press
Another 100m window under another manager. And yet still relegation battles to show for it. They have outspent liverpool since Moshiri took over an absolute indictment of his tenure, scandalous!

Good start for Fwank's boys
Scored one, an own goal.
Lost both games.
No points.
Keep it up Fwank

Fwank doesn't have Benitez' good start to hide behind this year either, which was what kept them up rather than him.
Re: Everton Thread
Nope, a proven bottler and another club's sloppy seconds. Really not sure about this obsession with copying Leicester too. They've had their time in the sun and it was largely funded by their owners, which isn't something that is happening here.
Re: Everton Thread
Didn't get the reference
I agree but Radz can't say "well we want to follow the Southampton model" which he does.
So he calls it the Leicester model because they won the title years ago.

Ah ok.
Yep, that's true. His idols also spent £40m on Tielemans and £35m on Fofana. Good luck funding that

Re: Everton Thread
Reports of Dele Alli going out on loan to Turkey. If so, that has to be a really damning assessment of Lampard's managerial ability. he had him for 6 months last season on loan. Decided he was worth 20 million plus this season. Now, 2 weeks in, he wants to send him out on loan. Unbelievable.
Re: Everton Thread
4 or 5 years ago, Dele looked like he could be a major player for the England team for years to come. Spectacular fall from grace and wonder what went wrong in his trajectory? Was he being too billy big b0llocks?andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Wed Aug 17, 2022 7:30 pm Reports of Dele Alli going out on loan to Turkey. Hmm...
How many times have we lambasted Lampard on here to end up with egg on our faces..
He is on an unbeaten run against us with his last three clubs.
Just sayin.

Dele Alli has joined Turkish side Besiktas on loan for the remainder of the 2022-23 season.
Re: Everton Thread
Maybe just knew how to beat Bielsa?
His record at Everton though is poor.
Lower win percentage than the majority of his predecessors (18th lowest out of 27 overall).
Everton have sacked plenty of managers with much better records.
