What are you reading
Apart from this post like.
I only read autobiographies, biographies, true accounts and the likes.
Normally have a few on the go at any particular time, at the moment I'm part way through, James Milner, Leonel Messi, True world war 1 accounts (my heart goes out to them all) Manny Pacquiao and David Jason.
I can easily read a chapter or 2 of any, then switch to another book.
Simon Jordan is one of the best I've read about football in many a year.

I am the same MC.
I only read autobiographies and things like that.
I have the Phil Hay one on Bielsa which I've made a start on and I've got the new Billy Connolly book to read to which I fully expect to be hilarious.

Memphis 68, the tragedy of southern soul. The second in Stuart Cosgrove's excellent soul trilogy (Detroit 67, Memphis 68, Harlem 69), anyone with an interest in Motown, Stax, soul music in general or the quest for civil rights in 60s America should read these books.

Two bios on the go - Rob Burrow and John Cooper Clarke.
My boys grew up with Rob and played rugby against him throughout the years. How a brave heart as big as his can fit in his small frame heaven knows. A true hero and an inspiration to MND sufferers and their families.
JCC? Bonkers.
Then I have The Hitler Years 1933-39 on Kindle. Lessons clearly not learned.

Got two on the go at the moment
Manhunt, Hunting Britains most wanted murderer - Peter Bleksley
This book is about the hunt for Kevin Parle who has been a fugitive for 15 years. He is the prime suspect of two murders in Liverpool in 2004 and 2005. Click the link below to see Peter Bleksley talking about the case.

Re: What are you reading
I have already read most of them but I have started re-reading the "Prey" series by John Sanford. If you love a gritty crime/murder drama these will satisfy you.

Sort of started reading HP Lovecraft again . Haven't done so for more than twenty years maybe. Also used to be hugely into Robert E Howard , not just Conan ,Kull and Solomon Kane but also his pulp horror type stuff . Both I think influenced heavily by Edgar Allen Poe.

I’ve started borrowing my lads books, he keeps a big pile of them in his room,
I’m working through his Ian M Banks culture series. Very good if you like sci-fi space operas.

Re: What are you reading
I really like Robert Harris as well and have read most of his books. Currently getting through the Strike series of books by Robert Galbraith/ JK Rowling, and I’m really enjoying those as well. I usually keep some political or history books on the go as well. Currently getting through a good biography of Napoleon by Andrew Roberts - very interesting.60sUnited wrote: ↑Fri Apr 01, 2022 8:59 pm Wow....this forum has alot of highbrow intellectual readers, good on you...personally I like a good thriller, have read all of the 'Jack Reacher' novels, most of the Robert Harris books, my favourites being the Roman era books plus one of my favourite novels 'Fatherland'.......just read....much better than tele !

Just finishing Philip Kerr’s Bernie Gunther series. Only read Fatherland from Harris which is very similar to the Kerr novels. What’s your recommendation for which Harris to read next? A lot get mixed reviews.
