One of my favourite songs, so haunting.

You'll probably remember I used to nominate The Animals songs in the Best Song Polls.

This clip isn't from the 60's, but from 1995 when Chuck joined BS on stage, but the look of adoration from BS shows the enormous love/respect that musicians had for CB - he really was a pioneer and one of the founding fathers of rock and roll.

My top 3 from the 60s:
The Beach Boys
The Byrds
The Velvet Underground

Also love Jefferson Airplane, Buffalo Springfield, Jimi Hendrix, The Kinks, Rolling Stones, surf rock etc.

Surely the best decade for music?

But looking at it now there's loads of great stuff there Stones, Chuck Berry, .

Album wise, if I had to pick one, it would be 'Let It Bleed'

Song wise, a few:
Animals - House of the Rising Sun
Buffalo Springfield - For What It's Worth
Procol Harum - A Whiter Shade of Pale

and possibly my favourite

If you've never seen this, it's a must watch. The genius (and I don't use that word lightly) that was Chuck Berry:

It is.. the TV and radio out there were heavily influenced by the Americans, as their ships and soldiers stopped off at Singapore on their way to and from Vietnam....

The Monkees, Batman, I dream of Jeanie, and Get Smart are amongst the 1st TV programs that I remember.

The Velvets were something else and way ahead of their time. They helped to counter the flower power hippy generation. Hendrix a phenomenal performer a man of great depth and talent.

You're right Overman, the Velvets were way ahead of their time  Got all their albums plus a few Lou Reed too.

Lou's "New York" album captured the zeitgeist of that city in the late 1980's better than anything.
