Re: Marc Roca -
Add his beautiful long pass out to Gnonto for the 1st goal. Worth mentioning the assist as it was a really well worked corner (a rarity for us)
Of course, he did give the ball away too many times.
Re: Marc Roca -
Just watched the extended highlights. It was actually Koch that laid that pass out. But his corner kicks were deadly. One that hit a wide open McKennie in stride and the Ayling goal were solid placements.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Sun Mar 19, 2023 10:26 pm Add his beautiful long pass out to Gnonto for the 1st goal. No worries. I, like John, actually thought it was Wober with the pass. Was a nice placement by Koch!

Re: Marc Roca -
Wober had the earlier lovely long pass to Gnonto in the move that got us the opener

Best game for us by an absolute mile
Was brilliant
Tackled so well and got about so well
But his use of the ball was top class.
His passing forward aqnd ability to see players in space was quality.
Very very good today
Hardly ever wastes a pass which is even more impressive given he isnt always playing safe sideways balls
Great game

Re: Marc Roca -
I agree with everything on that. What about the excellent ball he sent out to Rodrgo - the one where the ref failed to play an advantage for an earlier foul.Cjay wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 9:05 pm Best game for us by an absolute mile

Re: Marc Roca -
I didn't see the game so only going by reports on here but its starting to sound like players who were often playing poorly are now starting to show their worth on a more consistent basis. Confidence is a vital thing for all players and when you feel good you play better. Hopefully Javi has had a big influence in this, he certainly seems to have done what's been required of him so far.

Re: Marc Roca -
Was excellent today. There was a time in the first half were he did something poor and I remember thinking, 'How did he play for Barca and Bayern?' but then for the rest of the match he was superb. Really showed his passing as well as getting stuck in. Definitely think that people moving into position, getting into space etc makes if easuer for him to showcase his passing than earlier in the season when we simply were congested and he was having to try to force a pass or keep hold of the ball too long while he tried to find an option.
Re: Marc Roca -
I thought he was better on Saturday hence my motm pick.
I thought WM edged it tonight as he was good in both halves.
Roca played very well second half though.

Re: Marc Roca -
I liked what WM did today. Threw himself around and broke up a lot. As for Roca, he's starting to show his ability. Especially when it comes to starting a counter attack

They looked a good pairing today. I think WM is getting better with every game or perhaps getting more used to the way we play and beginning to fit in and show what he can do.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Tue Apr 04, 2023 11:38 pm I liked what WM did today. Re: Marc Roca -
McKennie is a class player. We needed to give him time. And he's showing that too.
Roca obviously had some ability to be picked up by Bayern. Slow start at Leeds. But that has to be big part due to Jesse's tactics. Kind of strange given Jesse brought him here. He looks a much better player under Javi. Almost everyone does. Obviously Javi knows how to nurture players and get the best out of them. He knows out to use their strengths for the best of the team. Jesse just had a system and expected everyone to fit into it. Javi is much more dynamic. And thanks to that flexibility, Roca looks like a top class player.

Re: Marc Roca -
I agree that was his best game. He's been quietly getting better over the last few games. And I don't think it's just down to him but down to Javi and knowing how to use him properly. Maybe a pep talk and clearer instructions - a gameplan he knows how to follow.
Not the place to gripe about Marsch. But gets on my wick more and more when I see the improvement in our players. I supported Marsch (almost) until the end. But the more I see from Javi, the more I realize that JM was a feckin charlatan.
Back on topic. Glad to see the improvement in Roca since the manager change.
