Yeah old Basil insulted everyone in fairness
As well as the coach, if Manuel can't get a work permit 😂

That's equality if you're insulting everyone.

I do remember him taking the knee as well with the shrapnel from the Korean War 8-)

Where did that hand thing at the top of my message come from?

Dunno, you probably got over zealous on the keyboard.

Never hit a car with a tree branch 😂

But have given starter motors a few smacks with a 🔨

You remember Basil doing that. Quality.

Yeah I had to give my solenoid a right pasting yesterday. My wife said I shouldn’t do that at work

Not mentioned much on here tbf but was some on other forums keen on him (presumably the Bielsa thing).

Strange one Sampaoli.

He's had 23 jobs in 29 years.

Worked lots in South America.

In Chile, Ecuador, Peru, Brazil and Argentina

Did a decent job in charge of the Chile national team, not so much with Argentina

Reasonable job at Sevilla 1st time, okish at Marseille and dreadful at Sevilla this time.

Bit of a cult figure it seems, hasn't won much but has some decent records at time.

Basically BielsaLite.

Hopefully we won't need to be talking about who should be our next manager. Have been impressed with Javi so far and at this point would be in favour of keeping him even if we did go down, barring us being absolutel awful or it looking like he'd lost the plot.

Javi has done what's been expected of him so far. Got us looking a bit more stable and organised plus picking up points. Too early to say he is the man for the job though. I would prefer to wait and see how the rest of this season pans out then take time over the summer to make the decision.
If i had to make the decision now, then i would go with him.

I like the fact his only focus is to get Leeds to safety. If he does that then the board will have a decision to make, and Javi of course. He may choose to sail off into the sunset with his bonus in tow.

Bit like JM , keep us up and he's done the job but no one realized he couldn't take us forward...can JG take us forward if he keeps us up?
With better quality players maybe yes but ultimately this is what we need...better quality players or we'll be in this position year after year.

And an owner who doesn't think finishing 17th on the cheap is an achievement.

That is the big question. So far Gracia has impressed me more in his 4 games in charge than JM did in the matches he was in charge of us last season (or this). When we played the Brentford match last season my feeling was that even if we stayed up we would only be kicking the can down the road and would be in this position this season if JM stayed in charge.

Hadn't been paying much attention but saw Rayo Vallecano lost today to Atletico Madrid.

Since Jesse Marsch was sacked and our interest in Andoni Iraola became known there form has tanked.

5 draws 3 defeats

19th in the La Liga form table last 8 games

I think Gracia would keep us us no problem it depends what you mean by progression. Without Wober i would say no manager progresses us. He's far more savvy in targeting the right games and much more pragmatic than JS imo. We must have a defencive rebuild if we stay up and add some creativity in the middle. Lets hope yesterday was a blip by the players. I think they thought they had the game won.

It's easy to forget that Wober
  • came into the squad a game or two prior to Jesse's sacking and the difference was massive. There were so many games under Marsch in which individual errors in the back cost us points. When Wober doesn't play we it a huge blow to our results. It can't be overstated what he means to any managers results. Wober, Adams and Gnoto were great signings and are desperately missed when not on the pitch.
