CHAPELALLMAN wrote: Sun May 28, 2023 9:48 pm Like I said - at least we had some attacking potency under Marsch. If he brought in Adams, then that wasn't too bad. I don't know who was responsible for Roca or McKennie.

You do know that we only scored 4 goals in our last 6 league matches under Marsch? His solution to trying to sort the defence out was to basically not attack at all.
Marsch was just one of 3 poor managers we had.

This had better not be true! Glad he came and had a go for 4 games but that needs to be it...

No way that is a good idea. I accept he was brought in far too late to have any kind of impact, but we need a Manager who is brave enough to clear the decks and build a new young team. If Sam stayed I could imagine some of the old, tired, failed players back in the team.

We ain't gonna get promoted with the u23s squad. We need a few experienced heads mixed in with Gray, Cresswell, Rutter, Summerville.

Agreed, but as I have already posted on other threads, Adams, Wobber, and Kristensen would be well worth keeping along with maybe Dallas. My worry is we see the likes of Firpo, Llorente, Bamford, Cooper and Ayling turning out again

Adams isn't staying. I'd only keep those players around the dressing room for their knowledge and experience.

There is no way Adams is staying here...

I do, we're in a complete mess and need sorting from the defence up first and foremost, then you can go start looking for goals.

Coz if we don't get this defence sorted, we are toast in the Championship as well.

We cannot even attempt to start playing any sort of football/Bertball unless we get Bert back, which ain't gonna happen.

So for me and the complete mess we're in defensively and defender/less, Sam is the man until he steadies this rapidly sinking ship.

Tough fcking titties, you didn't want a genius and his glorious football, now fcking suck it up.

Well said Kenneth

First thing these lot need is a pre-season with the Marines. That ought to toughen them up.

Sorry but what exactly makes Sam the man?

He's lost 60% of his games in his last 2 jobs.

His last period of note was at Everton 5 years ago.

In a game we HAD to win he played with 6 defenders.

His tactics are dated and absolutely dreadful to watch (he's broken literal records for his defensive football regarding lack of attacking passes etc).

He's a grown man who refers to himself as Big Sam

Thinks he is Alex Ferguson with his mind game nonsense (and I don't buy it was mind
Games, he has made comments about being able to manage Barcelona and Manure etc before) he genuinely believes it

And is always self promoting with an ego the size of the moon

I'd rather have Warnock

Please not Sam, his tactics, set up and team selection was horrendous yesterday. If it's at all possible, we'd regress even further under him. No room for his antiquated methods in the modern game. He's had his pay day, did sod all and can f**k off to his static caravan in Morecambe Bay.
