No, no. Don't get me wrong. Vardy would be bad signing from many points of view. A horrible person with a horrible attitude. My point was not to discount bringing in an old head to help the troopsThe Subhuman wrote: ↑Wed May 07, 2025 10:38 am Different era, the step up no where near as massive as it is now, the game has gotten a lot faster/more physical with press needing younger players.
Don't mind a 30 yr old old head but 38?

Re: Daniel Farke
He's a defensive manager thats for sure, but in fairness any manager that can galvanise a team to win 100 points and still come second place wont be shy of a few teams looking his way. I personally rate his abilities, he deserves a lot of credit for his achievements this year as does Farke for different playng styles. I just dont like how Scott Parker dresses like a pansy with his hair like something from a seventies serial killer look.
Thats no offence to anyone by the way including Parker, I guess no one taught him how to dress with modern fashion.

The so called best manager in the world (not), along with the so called best striker in the world (debateable).
A multi million pound outfit, Jack Grealish, De Bruyne, Doku, Savinho, Foden, Bernardo, Marmoush, Gundogan.
And he struggles to unlock this new fangled low-block/parking the bus mystery.

Seems even the best can struggle at it.

Daniel Farke is the first manager in history to win the second tier of English football on three occasions (2019, 2021, 2025).

Re: Daniel Farke
Someone somewhere currently constructs an argument as to why that is a poor achievement and it would be far more impressive to finish 5th & 9th with a load of no namers.

From Leeds fan Adonis Storr at The Roaring Peacock
Leeds have been linked in recent days with out-of-contract players with Premier League experience and, among fans, the names have provoked a mixed response.
This is arguably the most important transfer window in the club's history and United must make every single signing count if they are to cement their place in England's top tier next season.
So caution is justified, but free agents have worked for Daniel Farke in the past.
In his first season in charge, Farke brought Sam Byram back to the club. An academy product, Byram's time away from Yorkshire was ravaged with injuries.
When rumours emerged of a potential return, some questioned whether his best days were behind him.
But in the past two seasons Byram has played almost as many league games (69) as he did in total during his eight years away from Leeds (80), and he has been a solid performer.
And when Ethan Ampadu and Illia Gruev got injured within the space of 70 minutes of football last September, United went looking for an emergency defensive midfielder and signed out-of-contract Josuha Guilavogui.
In Guilavogui they found more than a back-up player. The farewell messages written on his final matchday shirt indicate the impact he had on team morale.
Brenden Aaronson wrote: "Best mate, best player here, love you g", Jayden Bogle wrote: "The best human I have ever met", another wrote: "My brother, leader, legend, what a man you are mate".
There is caution among the fan base and rightly so about some of the names Leeds have been linked with over the past few weeks - and an acceptance that Leeds need to be shopping in a different market than previous seasons.
But with a young side, Premier League experience is needed and hard to come by, and Leeds must trust Farke to find the right characters for the squad.

Re: Daniel Farke
We have to bring in players with PL experience. No matter how talented the options are from lower leagues - including The Championship - the level is just so much higher in the PL than anywhere else, we must have some of that experience when we start the season.1964white wrote: ↑Fri May 23, 2025 8:05 am From Leeds fan Adonis Storr at The Roaring Peacock

Even if its from players towards the sunset of their careers, that experience could be the difference between staying up or going back down.

I fully agree he wouldn't be good.
Vibes manager, not sure why so many rate him tbh.
Seems a nice if slightly arrogant bloke.

Re: Daniel Farke
Personality is a huge part of being a top manager and even Antonio Conte who has won 3 titles with 3 different clubs in Italy, as well as the PL with Chelsea was left totally frustrated by his time at Spurs. So much so he famously held the culture of the club to account in one of his press conferences.
Big Ange is multiple winner and so deserves a lot more respect than he currently getting, especially as he achieved something at Spurs that managers like Conte, Mourinho and Pochettino could not.

Re: Daniel Farke
I cannot stand the way he doesn’t look at the interviewer when they are speaking with him, always looking at the ground, not nice at all that.

Not when he contradicts himself with his own words.Jammy 07 wrote: ↑Sat Jun 14, 2025 1:11 pm Personality is a huge part of being a top manager and even Antonio Conte who has won 3 titles with 3 different clubs in Italy, as well as the PL with Chelsea was left totally frustrated by his time at Spurs. Ange said that the best way to judge a team on whether it's making progress is league form.
Ange also said that one trophy doesn't excuse underperforming elsewhere (when talking about Ten Hag).
And he's blamed injuries but he by his own admission rushed players back early and then insisted on the high intensity style which you don't need to be a doctor to know is going to increase the chances of injuries (something Spurs have had since he took over).
So people judging Ange "harshly" are only judging him by his very own words and opinions.
