Listening to Randy Newman's 'Land Of Dreams'
Thank you, Bob for nominating this lovely album in the '88 poll, one of three I had in mind.
I doubt there are many Newman fans on here!

Quite by chance (having gone down the 'if you like that, you might like this' route on Spotify today) I ended up listening to a 2017 album 'Safer With The Wolves...' by Pete International Airport.
Tbh, I'd never heard of them before, let alone heard anything by them. However, quite taken with the album, especially the opening track 'Even Happier', which is fantastic

Starcrawler are the best band in the world today, imo.
Anyone here heard their music ?

I love Elbow's early albums but, listening this morning in the car to Scarborough, they surpassed their initial stuff six albums later with the release of 'Flying Dream 1'
Guy Garvey at his best with the melodic musicianship from the rest of the band is sublime!
A footnote about Elbow. I was considering ordering tickets to see Elbow a couple of years, then I saw them on the telly, may have been Glastonbury & decided it wasn't a good idea as they did all their festival stuff, much less appealing to me. I'll stick to listening to their albums I enjoy.
I'm the man for all your mellow sounds.
I'll leave all the hard rock/new guitar sounds to the rest on here.

The days of places like Selector Disk having racks of used lp's for sale. After about 20 minutes picked up a copy of "Little Criminals" on vinyl. Wow what a musician and composer.

Arrow de Wilde daughter of Autumn de Wilde and a Laurel Canyon session drummer I think. I've been bigging them up for a few years now.
Best band, probably not. Too many really great bands out there atm.

Corrine Baily Ray's new album is really different and excellent. Got to be taken seriously in what is an amazingly strong year for new music
