Daniel Farke post Bristol City

Post by Cjay »

Farke's here - that performance?
Result could have been more obvious with more goals. Thank you for the congratulations. Nearly a perfect away performance. So many things I liked. our pressing, counter-pressing. Fighting spirit in the duels. So dominant today. Created with creativity.

One criticism is our efficiency in front of goal. an ongoing topic. If you want to celebrate and cheer next May, you need to score the goals and out the chances away. Need to put games to bed. Playing against very good opponents. Even today, a situation out fo nothing and if Meslier is not there with a big save it's 1-1 and we are left explaining a draw.

Massive three points. Many things to like

Reluctance to shoot on sight?
I would not say that in general. I would say they need to feel a moment. In a three vs one, the pass has to be right, the first touch has to be right. What we have to learn. Played with freedom and creativity. I enjoyed us playing football because you could feel the joy they had out there. Played the game as it should have been played. Normally you should score four or five goals on nights like this. Everyone is left talking about champagne football and fireworks, but instead everyone will say it was a nasty, gritty win with Bristol chances.

Gnonto
For every player. I was hoping it would be like this. In recent weeks, he had work ethic and put a shift in, but you could feel a goal or assist was missing. Offensive players need end products. A crucial goal for him at a crucial moment. He deserves it. Happy for Willy.

Window
Overall, I have to say many compliments to our people behind the window. Crucial we wanted to keep our key players. Fantastic. Had some decisions to make on players who wanted to leave and allowed this with class and style. Made no secret we needed defenders. Thank God, Cooper back to fitness, Cresswell stays with us. Committed himself to this club. The necessity of a CB eased up, but we wanted a RB.

We allowed Ayling and Spence to leave, leaving only Gray and Shackleton there. We have a specialist in there now with Connor, Great CV, great age. 180 games at this level. Great character and fully committed. Half of the Wales national team is here now. They will be well prepared to face Glen Kamara's Finland.

Not easy to improve our group, but it's a perfect fit. He has to prove it on the pitch and in training now. Good to have a specialist.

Efficiency
Difficult, but I do not blame our players. So many young players. Illan, very young goalkeeper. Archie Gray. Gruev's first steps. Young players in the offence apart from Patrick. He has this efficiency normally. Price you have to pay when working with young players. Even after a win, we have to address this topic and improve it.

Gnonto management
First of all, it's not me who has to be praised, it's Willy Gnonto. Fully convinced of him in the summer. Spoke fully about the reasons. Worked with him and backed and trusted him. Difficult times for him in August We spoke with him and it's a period you have to go through. Work and be on it. Sadly out for a few weeks. Be there with a goal and an assist. We just can train him and bring him to the door before he steps through it.

That was my view from the first moment, he would be central this season.
Signed
