Walking from Leeds Station to Elland Road

Post by 60sUnited »

Advice needed.....I always go to matches in the car and park near the ground but on Saturday myself and a mate will be in the city before the game and wondered if we could easily walk to the ground from there ? Last time I did this must be 20 years ago and I've forgotten what it was like ? Any advice appreciated.

It hasn’t changed that much, apart from a couple of motorways and the odd dual carriageway. By a hi-viz jacket and you’ll be fine.
Please don't ever make the mistake of taking me seriously.

I always park at the pub, but it’s a doddle of a walk really, 30 mins or so maximum.

Easy to walk but if you’re 90 & use a zimmer frame I’d order a taxi 😬 30/40 mins at a comfortable stroll but an Uber isn’t expensive.
Football is 90% mental, the other half is physical.

About a 40 minute walk. Neville Street, Meadow Road, Holbeck Moor Road, over the moor, Elland Road and over the footbridge.

Or the R2 specal bus operates from Sovereign Street to Elland Road. £2 or £4 return. If two of you Uber potentially cheaper.

As a boy/teenager, I used to walk to ER from Armley.

60 years later, I would probably walk now, if I lived in Leeds.
