Re: Leeds Utd v Middlesbrough Player ratings
Meslier 7 - A few big moments in the second half and was alert to them.
Byram 8 - Very impressive. Crunching tackle to set off the DJ goal.
Wober 6 - Did OK until the o.g, that seemed to knock the stuffing out of him. Really slowed the last half hour. Match fitness or sulking?
Tanaka 8 - Just outstanding once again. Contributes so much. Player of the year written all over him.
Rothwell 8 - Another all action performance. What an engine he has on him. I wasn't expecting this when we signed him.
Rodon 7 - Kept danger man Latte-Lath in check. Took some knocks but soldiered on as you would expect.
Struijk 8 - Rock solid.
Gnonto 6 - Below par and couldn't really affect the game but right place for the opener.
James 9 - A couple of sitters missed but that's just DJ. Fantastic otherwise covering so much ground. A positive effect in big moments. Lovely goal.
Aaronson 7 - Worked hard as usual. End product not great as usual.
Joseph 5 - Couldn't make an impact

Re: Leeds Utd v Middlesbrough Player ratings
Meslier - 7.5 Very steady and improving every game. Great play against the Doak chance.
Byram - 7.5 I’d play him against all the better teams, far better defender than either Firpo or Bogle.
Wober - 6 Struggled in the second half and looks very slow when trying to get back, More game time should help.
Struijk - 8 One of his best performances against a tough team
Rodon - 7.5 Gave 100% again, reminds me a bit of Terry Butcher, lays his body on the line every game.
Rothwell - 8 Was everywhere, pushing play on & breaking up any attacks and his set pieces are improving.
Tanaka - 9 Our best signing in a long time, consistently brilliant in every game.
James - 9 Oozing confidence, even when he missed a chance he came straight back with a brilliant finish.
Gnonto - 7 Got the important 1st goal to ease the nerves but never really got going, trying too hard ??
Aaronson - 8 If he could add a bit of composure at vital times he could be the real deal but had a good game.
Joseph - 5 Disappointed he didn’t take his chance (again). Can’t see him starting any time soon.

Piroe - 7 Needs to start every game, had a big involvement in both 2nd half goals.
Solomon - 6 Didn’t do much when he came on.

I give CJay a few minutes as we have posted at the same time before, but Hector had them up very quickly. In fact 3 minutes after kick off it seems

Don't think Wober is getting quite the credit he deserves. OG aside, he turned Doak into a complete non-entity.

Re: Leeds Utd v Middlesbrough Player ratings
Unsure why Wober has received low marks from some
Max had a super game, heavily involved with 23 decent contributions. Wober also defended well against Boro's danger man Doak on three occasions. Because Max was playing more or less as a left-winger, it kept the little Scottish scouser occupied in their half, for long periods of the game.
Maybe, docked points for the own goal.

My pals around me in the kop were drooling about his performance.
One of our members boarded our coach & immediately commented, "Well, we don't have to worry about the LB position any more"
How very true!

We see from pundits ratings, a goal gets you MOTM. An own goal probably counts the other way.1964white wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 3:00 pm Unsure why Wober has received low marks from some![]()

I thought he was fantastic first half. Thought he struggled a bit more second half. But that's just on one emotion-wrangled viewing
That said, I do agree that he's answered the call at LB. It's a few weeks before the question comes up and if injuries happen elsewhere, it might never come up. But on current performance, Wober gets the start at LB ahead of Firpo.

Wober get up & down the pitch like Firpo does, however, Max is a better defender than Junior.andrewjohnsmith wrote: ↑Wed Dec 11, 2024 8:45 pm We see from pundits ratings, a goal gets you MOTM. An own goal probably counts the other way.
