We're not even in a 23/24 position of having quality coming through the 21 set up. If we keep Jack then it looks better but it seems no one wants Jack here

All teams of course in a position to add and one might say Wolves etc in a better position and with funds in place from those sales are in a much better position

They also probably have a better player acquisition team in place, ours is almost a complete unknown (with the recent outgoings). This will be the Niners first premiership window in full control, they haven't proven anything yet

BTW the 25/26 squad page needs pinning and the old one can be moved to archives if you want.
Some good points and I'd agree that we're currently weaker due to Junior leaving and Solomon being at the end of his loan. Harrison as you say potentially counterbalances one of those but we're still a very decent left back down on where we were at the time of promotion.

There's also Dan James contract situation as he only has 12 months left and as a valuable asset we might have to look to trade if he won't sign a new deal.

Joffy and Gyabi are due back from their loans as well although doubt we'll be seeing them in Leeds shirt again. However Gyabi is still only 21 so it could be worth keeping him to see if he's progressed. Last season of his contract coming up as well although we would be due compensation as long as we offer him a new deal. Joffy has 2 years left and just can't see anything other than him moving on permanently.

Mediocre players are the ones who can only play in one position and struggle when moved to a new one that they are not comfortable with..
You couldnt ask Messi to play center half for example :)
Formation yes and within reason as you say.

What I meant was tactical demands of the style of play for the position.

You couldn't buy a 5ft 3 inch dwarf striker and try playing into him like Keifer Moore for example.

Cheap backup I presume.

Talented as a kid and hyped up (as was his brother) but he's Bamford level injury prone so never reached his potential

Someone on waccoe mentioned it last week and was dismissed as a joke.

I just saw this Cjay.

In his last 4 seasons at Wolfsburg he managed 63 league appearances and 16 goals. So, I'm guessing he's had plenty of injuries.

Got him on a free and his wages are probably cheap enough, but whether he will be available is the big question mark against him.

The fact that Wolfsburg are happy to see him walk speaks volumes.

Initial thoughts are certainly a touch underwhelming.

Will this be a replacement for Joseph?

One would hope it's a Paddy replacement, downgrade if it's a Mateo replacement. I hope he's not our "first signing" because July 1st is 16 days away, window opens tomorow

Personally I feel Bamford is here for the duration of his contract.

Maybe we will keep Joseph and Bamford with Nmecha just an addition, but that would leave Farke trying to keep plenty of players happy with, presumably, a top signing coming in for the number 9 berth.

Back-up I reckon.

From the O/S
Nmecha adds versatility to Farke’s forward line as the team prepares for a return to the Premier League, with his ability to play in the centre of the attack or also on the wing, he also offers a strong physical presence.

We'll need those two quality parts of his game in the PL

This might be something of a "left field" signing as Tanaka and Ramazani were last season. Hope he comes through as that pair did

I doubt we'll add another striker now, especially if we keep Mateo, which I hope we do as he could be the best of the 4 at the club. I think this signing seems to indicate Piroe is our starter this coming season. 5 strikers seems too many, would need Paddy to leave

Graham has already said the club are looking for another striker.

Nmecha was a bench player at mid table Wolfburg second half of the season by the looks of it..

I’ll be staggered if we don’t get another striker in.

So Monday morning Newcastle have registered an interest in Bijol, and despite having allegedly agreed personal terms, and Leeds having been in negotiations for a week with Udinese, it’s now suggested that Leeds hope to get the signing completed by next week.

Is there a lack of urgency here, or what’s the holdup?

I hope we’re not going to miss out on a primary target by haggling over nickels and dimes, the Barcodes aren’t short of a few quid.

Edit - apparently he got married on Saturday in Slovenia, that might be a factor.

It takes at least a party of two to make the agreement so LUFC can only go so far before it can get the deal over the line. Or not
