We've had a £31mil bid rejected by Fulham for striker Ricardo Muniz.

Fulham want significantly more.

Other targets more likely according to The Athletic

They are

Although tbf so did Radz and Irta in theory.

Gakpo, De Paul, Gvardiol etc.

Just never got them signed :)

Hopefully the showing ambition actually translates to getting it done this time.

It's only serious ambition if we sign these big ticket players

Something I suggested as Something I hoped we may do.
Bijol too at Udinese. Played in the center of a back three--the plot thickens :duno:

It's a perfectly logical thing to do.

Both Brentford and Wolves switched to a back 3 first season up :duno:

Then the question becomes Ampadu or Tanaka in central mid? Or we don't use a 10?

In essence a back 3 is just a minor tweak from our usual formation. We usually had Ampadu or Gruev as the DM dropping into CB when the full backs attacked. Would just mean perhaps aslightly more defence minded 3rd centreback / defensive mid.
I love leeds united, may I never admit to it. :shhh:

Drop the 10, we don't have one anyway, ask Amps to sit and Tanaka to make Klich runs to join the attack.

More cover down the flanks in transition if you insist on keeping attacking wing backs

Bijol can step out to help build from the back (assuming we won't be going long.

In theory it should mean you always have a spare man when playing out.

New players obviously in some areas but I love a back 3.

Whether DF knows how to coach one or even will who knows whats upto him.

We'll be playing for plenty of draws and working on the counter so I can see the logic. Also, Gudmundsson sounds like he'd be more than happy to play the wingback--we know it's no problem for Bogle either.

not sure Piroe can play that 9 with no one off. The disconnect will be greater than the Aaronson/Piroe combo that you said wasn't working last season. Be interesting to see if Rama forces his way into the 11 given he couldn't get in the championship team and I do think we'll add a starting inverted left wing..

unless Jack is in the plans, and that strangely makes sense as atm Schmidt is our LWB and he's inverted so we'd retain the natural left footed wide player, he'd just be the winger

Nmecha with his pace probably makes more sense ...

More a tactical post we know we will have other players.

Rama was our most productive player overall in terms of goals and assists per minute, I hope to see more.

Lot of players who have struggled in Premier league before so will be interesting to see how a lot of them cope.

And it isn't a dig, not every manager can coach multiple formations in general.

Not every manager can do it certainly at a top level standard.

And DF has never played a back 3.

So we don't know if he can, or if he would even want to.
