The Harrogate born Edmondson was always a Leeds United supporter but after being rejected by Huddersfield Town he was taken on by the York City Academy in 2015 and was soon making large steps for the Vanarama National League North side, making his debut for them, as a substitute in the seventy-second minuteof a 2-1 home win over Brackley Town on 7th October 2017. He had become the club's third youngest ever player at just sixten years and one hundred and forty days. He soon had larger clubs taking note of his obvious talent and it came as no surprise when Leeds United signed him on 15th November 2017 for an undisclosed fee and gave him a contract until June 2020. He went straight into the Under-Eighteen Development League team and by season's end had scored eight goals in thirteen starts and one game from the bench. He also started one and came on as a substitute once for the Under-Twenty-Three Development League team without scoring before the end of 2017-18. He helped United to win the Under-Eighteen Development League title and was an instant success with both goals in a 2-1 home win over Birmingham City on 27th January 201 and a hat-trick in a 4-2 win over Burnley on 10th February 2018. He made his debut for the Under-Twenty-Threes at home to Queens Park Rangers on 13th April 2018 but could not find the net. Then in the final game of the season he made his first team bow, at the age of Sixteen years and three hundred and fifty-one days against Queens Park Rangers on, 6th May 2018, the final day of the 2017-18 Championship season as he took the field to replace Kemar Roofe after seventy-three minutes. The Leeds coach at that time, Paul Heckingbottom, could see the potential of the powerfully built striker and took him with the squad that made a tour of Myanmar in May 2018. In the first game, a 1-2 defeat by MNL All-Stars on 9th May 2018 he came on as a sixty-second minute substitute and was soon in the action but his snap-shot was straight at Myanmar goalkeeper Tun. After sixty-five minutes Pearce crossed from the left and with a great cushioned volley Edmondston beat the goalkeeper but the linesman's flag went up for offside. It looked marginal. two minutes later he broke into the box and drilled a ball across the goal but no Leeds player was on hand to tap in. On seventy-one minutes there was another long ball into the box and he rose to head it home but the keeper got there first. Two days later he capped a lively performance with some neat footwork to open the score in the fifty-ninth minute after a shot from Caleb Ekuban spilled into his path inside the box. He played sixty minutes before being replaced by Jay-Roy Grot. He signed a new three-year contract with Leeds on 7th August 2018. He started for the Under-Twenty- Three team at York City on 19th July 2018 and played the first half before being replaced by Sam Dalby at half-time. Three days later he was an unused substitute in a pre-season friendly for the first team in a 1-1 draw at Roots Hall against Southend United. This was followed by forty-five minutes as a half-time replacement for Sam Dalby in a 3-4 defeat by Oxford United at Kassam Stadium on 24th July 2018. Two days later he found the net in the fifty-third and seventy-first minute before being replaced by Sam Dalby in the seventy-second minute of a 4-3 win by the Under-Twenty-Threes at Guiseley in another pre-season friendly. He scored his first goal of the new season when he scored in the fifty-eighth minute in a 1-1 home draw at Nethermoor Park on 27th August 2018. He made his first appearance for the 2018-19 season when he came on as a seventy-fist minute substitute for Barry Douglas as United were chasing the game, but failed to avert going down to their first League defeat of the season in a 1-2 home defeat by Birmingham City on 22nd September 2018.
