Bill Lambton had a short-lived spell as Leeds United manager in 1958 but left a lasting impression by offering Don Revie his first job at the club. A former goalkeeper turned coach, Lambton lasted only a few months in charge. Though his results were poor, his decision to bring Revie to Elland Road would shape the club's destiny. Lambton went on to manage Scunthorpe United but never again held a prominent managerial position.
