Brian Clough's infamous 44-day reign at Leeds United in 1974 remains one of the most controversial managerial tenures in football history. Hired to replace Don Revie, Clough had been openly critical of Revie's team and methods, creating immediate friction with a successful but loyal squad. Results were poor, and after just one win in six games, Clough was sacked. Though his time at Elland Road was short and chaotic, it became legendary, later inspiring the book and film 'The Damned United'.
