Kevin Blackwell became Leeds United manager in 2004 during a time of financial turmoil and squad rebuilding after relegation from the Premier League. With limited resources, he took Leeds to the Championship play-off final in 2006, losing narrowly to Watford. Despite his steadying influence, a poor start to the following season led to his dismissal. Blackwell later managed Luton Town and Sheffield United among others, gaining a reputation for pragmatism under pressure.
