Steve Evans was appointed Leeds United manager in 2015 during the ownership of Massimo Cellino. Known for his fiery personality, Evans provided relative stability at a time when the club was undergoing frequent managerial changes. Although he improved results, he was not retained after the season ended. Evans later managed lower-league clubs including Gillingham and Stevenage.
