I've always said Cooper would walk into 80% of championship teams and start and be good. That could be higher now

I fancy MB sees this as a chance to further educate KP about the defensive side of things - don't forget he played him at centreback in some of the friendlies. As a long term plan this is great as it will benefit KP and we all need to stop seeing things game by game, every team has a wobble in the championship and crikey even Man City had a wobble lately losing to Crystal Palace and Leicester. We have had a wobble and WBA and Norwich have had one at the same time too. The only team not wobbing is Sheff Utd and they are similar to us in that their manager is getting the best out of average players, Billy Sharp a prime example.

I don't think there is too much wrong with the team that having Cooper back won't fix. It makes us stronger defensively and when KP returns from his ban we hopefully have the back 4 in place and he can sit in front of it again allowing Cooper, PJ, Ayling and Douglas to get forward whenever they want. The attacking side of things was superb yesterday -admittedly could have had a couple more goals but we were creating really decent chances. We could easily have had 4 or 5 goals despite playing with 10 men.
Again, spot on post.

Agreed.

The strength of the squad means that certain players cant be replaced.

Cooper (i loathe to say that as i think he will revert to type eventually) but he has been very good largely with Jansson and Phillips.

Championship players are pretty limited, they need familiarity, once you disrupt that accidents happen.

It hasnt worked imo, 1 clean sheet in 6, 11 goals conceded, its not worked and hopefully the Phillips at cb experiment will be over now.

Fairly disappointed we haven’t had a keeper announced by now tbh, I would have hoped for that to be signed sealed and delivered by now considering Blackman has long left the club and BPF form has dipped over the past month.
