What a brilliant performance, a joy to watch in what was a magical atmosphere in the Emirates library.
We outplayed a top premiership side for 45 minutes on their own patch playing with style & confidence of a premiership tea, our movement & passing were top quality. We may have lost the game but we came out with great dignity with lots of compliments from other clubs fans

Positives

We ran the gooners ragged losing the game only to scrappy goal.
Our movement, passing & stylish play.
Kalvin had their 400k a week German international Ozil in his pocket.
Meslier's superb debut & his missile passes.
Ayling, White, Berardi & Douglas defended well.
Klich back to his best.
How good was Jack Harrison?
Gotts debut.
Pontus giving our fans the Leeds salute as he supported his ex-teammates.

Negatives

Missed chances cost us the game.
Referee favoured Arsenal all night.

the perfect scenario really. we lost the game but we won all the plaudits and praise and deservedly so.
the football we played in the first half at times was breathtaking and was all the more satisfying it was witnessed and admired by a huge tv audience .
NOW we can fully focus and concentrate on finally getting out of this league and hopefully start playing and competing with teams like arsenal week in week out once again.

I was too busy going crazy watching to post anything.

I'll echo what everyone else has said.....

We were the better side, by far, in the first half and were very unfortunate not to have at least two goals. They turned up the heat in the second half, but we certainly held our own. Arsenal have to be feeling very fortunate to be moving on from this one.

Describing Arsenal as a mid-table team, while technically accurate, doesn't do them justice. They have top-four talent and have finally begun to play like it under Arteta. They absolutely pummeled Scum in their last game before this. I think Alioski was spot on when he said we'd probably pummel Scum, too. :-)

Xhaka should have had four or five yellow cards; and he wasn't the only one who got away with a touch of brutality. Their turning up the physicality - and the referee's willingness to let them get away with it - certainly turned the tide.

This has to be a major boost for our side. We utterly dominated a PL side while playing without more than one of our key players. The boys have to feel as though they can handle anyone in the Championship from here on out.

weasel wrote: ↑Tue Jan 07, 2020 5:41 pm Where we fail is that we also don't get the goals that the teams that play a similar way do. Liverpool have a front 3 who all score goals, City get as many goals from Sterling as they do from the main striker (not to mention DeBruyne's goals from central midfield) whilst we don't get anywhere near that amount from our wide players. Harrison gives me hope that he will continue to improve and can certainly hit 15 to 20 goals a season as well as doing the defensive stuff and assisting. Not sure Costa or Alioski can have that same impact. Add in the lack of goals from midfield (where Dallas is top scorer) and that is the bigger problem than just replacing the striker. Bamford definitely needs to get more goals but as a team the biggest concern is the lack of goals.
Agreed the lack of goals throughout the team are a concern.

Ali will pop up with a few.

Costa to and Klich hopefully and hopefully Harrison can to.

But the fact own goal is our 2nd highest scorer is a concern.

Thats why i hope whoever the winger is it isnt a squad filler, hoping for someone like Ayew and hoping the club do decide to go for another cm as Forshaw fit or not wont help.

If we could add for example Adams, Ayew and Freeman then that would get us up imo.
