Leeds recorded their first league victory of the season at the weekend, with a comprehensive display over a Watford team, with little to cheer about. It's been a long time coming; the Whites hadn't won at home (in the league) since the beginning of April. The visitors tried to make things difficult, by getting ten men behind the ball, but once deadlock was broken, the flood gates opened. In truth, Watford were awful, and put up about as much fight as a Russell Brand appreciation society, as Leeds battered the Hornets into submission, in one of the most one sided games you'll see this season.

The Elland Road faithful had to wait until the 67th minute to break the deadlock. Dan James broke clear down the right channel, and delivered a superb cross to the back post, where Piroe had arrived from nowhere to grab his fourth of the season.

They doubled their lead just three minutes later, when Byram headed home James' corner, followed by a third, a few minutes from time after Rutter sliced the Watford defence wide open, to give Jaidon Anthony a one on one with Bachman, and he didn't disappoint.

Along with Georginio, I gave Ampadu 10/10 on our Player Ratings topic.

I counted 43 decent actions of play from Ethan, which is a phenomenal amount in 90 minutes of a game.

I loved Kalvin & Tyler, but Ampadu blows me away

I even wake-up in the morning singing his Du-Du song

Couldn't tell if this was because he had the space do drive forward that he hasn't had in previous matches, if it was part of the overall game plan, or because of Kamara taking on a slightly different role than Archie...or all three. Either way, I didn't hate it :) I just really want him to get a goal--he's had several good opportunities from outside the 18 yd. box, but yesterday was by far the best...damn Daniel Bachman
Deserved a goal. That was a world class save to deny him in the 4th minute

Amazing how transformed Rutter looks both in ability and demeanor. He had about 8 sensational moments - the one leading up to the 3rd goal was brilliant.

Ampadu was terrific today too. That's the most positive I've seen him so far. He was always looking to be aggressive and drive the ball forward.

Summerville and James both excellent. Constantly causing them problems.

Nice to finally have a natural finisher in Piroe. And he did contribute well in other areas.

Kamara fit in really well in his first start.

I'm giving high marks to everyone today

Inevitable that we're going to start comparing this to Bielsa's championship team.

The obvious point is that most of this team is better than the championship whereas virtually none of Bielsa's team were. This is a team of premier league players who got relegated. Bielsa had a team that had been outside the premier league for 16 years and had just finished bottom half of the championship the previous season. We had one star player in Phillips, but we didn't even know that until Bielsa arrived.

There's so much good quality in this squad. Meslier, Strujik, Rutter, Summerville, James, Gnonto got relegated and are better than this league. On top of that we've made really smart signings - players who have proven themselves in this league.

Leicester are the only other team in this league who have our quality. We should get promoted with this squad.
