Patrick Bamford's stunning volley helped the Whites, ease their way into the fourth round of the FA Cup, and keep their 100% (2024) win record intact, against a confident Peterborough side, unbeaten since November.

Many were surprised to see the likes of Rodon, Ampadu, Gray, Piroe and Firpo all start the game. Traditionally higher placed teams would use the early rounds of the competition to give youth an opportunity, but clearly Farke didn't get the memo.

Ethan Ampadu got Leeds off the mark in the 34th minute, with just his third goal in professional football. Jaidon Anthony's free kick was chipped into the penalty area where Bamford was waiting, but his heavy touch saw it fall nicely for the 23yo Welshman, who made no mistake from close distance.

Leeds second will resonate in the memory of fans for years, and could give Bamford the shot in the arm needed to turn around his ailing career. Ampadu's 50 yard punt up the pitch looked harmless enough, but with his back to goal, Bamford gracefully bought the ball under his spell, before spinning 180 degree's and volleying left footed past Talley from 25 yards.

Ampadu doubled his tally late on following a Dan James corner, but by that time Posh were already soundly beaten.

We have got decent depth in the GK dept. We have 3 very young (career wise) assets.

Is it the case that Klass has clearly been overlooked as the number 1 keeper by every coach/manager we have had at the club since he arrived. Not only are they all wrong on this matter, but they are also wrong on choosing Mes as the number 1.

3 top flight games in the English leagues THREE !!?? and some are suggesting he is installed as the number 1 keeper. He might be the next big thing, but you cannot change the keeper on the basis of three performances unless he has been outstanding. I cannot recall him dealing with anything of note tbh.

I just peeved by the damned if he does and damned if he doesn’t crowd.
That won't change I'm afraid. Some folk just love to moan, moan, moan whatever.

I was one of those who was afraid of this match, but I've never taken shots at Farke, nor will I. He's been great for us.

He didn't play our best eleven and with good reason. A Cup run will be great if we can do it, but it can't some at the expense of possible promotion. Had we lost today and still rested Summerville and Rutter I'd have been disappointed but not bereft and I would have understood Farke's thinking entirely.
I wasn’t directing it at you specifically John.
