West Brom and Leeds played out a soul-destroying, put your head in an oven goalless draw on Saturday lunchtime, with the only cheers from the crowd coming on 95 minutes, thankful for the final whistle. Daniel Farke sought to calm the nerves of his players after a turbulent week, opting for a defensive strategy at the Hawthorns, to kick-start Leeds' revival. A clean sheet away from home can be seen as a positive, highlighted by a solid display from skipper Pascal Struijk. However, the attacking play was dire; It lacked any kind of rhythm or coordination, with the midfield and forward line on completely different wavelengths at times.

Losing your two best players, and conceding six at home in two games had a knock-on effect on his squad; he said as much during his pre match presser. Whilst a mind numbingly lacklustre 0-0 draw will do little to lift the current toxicity around Elland Road, it won’t make it any worse!

Because the squad we had was mostly untested. The only reason we were able to sell Archie, Cree, and Georgi for a combined $100 million is because they became star players under Farke. Two out of the three were completely untested in English football prior to last season. What do you suppose the combined selling price would have been prior to last season? The answer is not very much. And a lot of the credit for that rightly goes to Daniel Farke.
It is about self management of expectation. Most of the posters who wax lyrical about how we had the best squad last season and should have been nailed on for promotion did not offer a prediction for the start of last season. They are just reactionairies to every event, who use hindsight as their main weapon to suggest insight.

However, we did fall off a cliff last season after 38 games, when promotion was extremely viable. But I predicted top 6 at the start of last season so for me DF did an OK job and essentially over achieved.

I always insisted last season we would achieve automatic promotion this season, as I thought we'd build on our squad with the likely loss of Summerville.

Unfortunately, the heart & soul has been ripped out of our first team & we are also operating with the smallest squad in all the football leagues.

The upheaval & the current circumstances have forced a change of thought to the extent we have no chance of finishing in the top two, a play-off place also in serious jeopardy, imo!

I for one was and would expect the same of any supporter of a relegated side
The fees we have received for Gray and Rutter are absurd in my opinion
