Leeds whipped up a storm in South Wales after coming from behind twice to defeat Swansea City, and clamber their way to the top of the Championship. Swansea hadn't scored more than two for fourteen games, but also have not conceded four since the last time Farke's men visited, back in February. Despite three valuable points, the cogs aren't turning in unison for the Whites. They looked lop-sided in the final third, with Jaydan Bogle often ostracized, in favour of attack after attack coming down the left flank.

Loose passing and constantly getting turned over in advanced areas must be a constant cause for concern for the Leeds gaffer. As for talent on display, there was very little; James and Tanaka ran the show (with an honourable mention to Solomon for his brace); without which, serious question marks would have been raised about the rest of the Leeds squad!

What Swansea lacked in the talent department, they more than made up for in effort, endeavour and guile! Every man (and their sheep) would get behind the ball when the Whites went on the offensive, then broke in numbers after regaining possession. Theatrics and inventiveness ensured the visitors won the lions share of the referee's decisions!

So, in a match that had more twists than a pretzel, Gnonto's injury time strike proved decisive; without which, we would have seen a very different reaction from the Leeds United faithful.

As such we had space up front and out wide that we don't usually get - flip side is that we are then defending against more players than we are used to defending against.
(Just loogged in after a bit) Yeah good way of looking at it but the issue for me isn't necessarily the extra space that we have left defensively due to our attacking transition but the individual errors that led to the goals conceded (Meslier, think it was Rothwell who passed into danger when no pressure on him for second think it was, not sure though now but know there were two errors)..

I just worry that we don't really have a balance like a Brentford, villa etc when they went up (not saying we will but that's the target) don't think either Firpo or Bogle are very good defensively.

Very hard to change ethos in pre season without getting ahead of ourselves. Norwich looked amazing under farke in champ and ripped apart in prem.

In out and out goal scoring terms neither fills me with great confidence week to week.

What does a Gykoceres or Watkins or Toney have that our lads don’t? They were all Championship strikers recently. Can it be coached or is it a natural ability? If the latter, how do we spot the next example?

Answers on a postcard.
Lee Chapman, natural ability to know where to be ( usually 2 yards out ) and the desire to get any single part of his body on the ball. I think confidence plays a massive part as well, remember listening to a Didier Drogba interview before an FA cup final and he said most strikers go into a game hoping to score whereas he went in convinced he was going to score and he did.

In my humble opinion Piroe is a natural goal scorer whereas Joseph is a harder worker without that killer instinct, hopefully they get enough goals between them to get us up but we’d need an upgrade for the Prem. Farke is right sticking with Piroe as starter but Joseph has to show more coming off the bench to give DF a reason to pick him.

Would Piroe have scored the Joseph sitter v Swansea, I reckon so, would Joseph have scored it if he had been on from the start, who knows but I doubt it.

His only goal was, coming off the bench this season.

Mateo has missed some glorious chances.

I enjoy his work rate.

It's more instinctive positioning & natural ability, Dave.
