Leeds United and Newcastle United played out a goalless draw at Elland Road, in a match that offered plenty of intensity but few clear-cut chances. From the off, the game was end-to-end, with Leeds launching dangerous attacks down the flanks. Gudmundsson made crucial defensive blocks, while Gnonto and Nmecha caused problems for Newcastle, though persistent fouling and tight marking limited Leeds’ finishing opportunities. Newcastle’s Jacob Murphy tested Lucas Perri with long-range efforts, but the Leeds goalkeeper remained alert, keeping the scores level as the first half ended without a goal.

The second half saw Leeds continue to press, with Bogle and Aaronson combining effectively and Harrison providing a threatening delivery for Calvert-Lewin, whose late strike was kept out by Nick Pope’s foot. Newcastle introduced Anthony Elanga and Harvey Barnes to spark their attack, but without the presence of new signing Nick Woltemade or absent Alexander Isak, the visitors struggled to convert their crosses into goals. Leeds defended resolutely, and Perri produced key saves to deny Murphy and other Newcastle attempts, ensuring the hosts maintained a clean sheet.

While neither side could find the net, the draw offered positives for Leeds after consecutive defeats to Arsenal and Sheffield Wednesday. Daniel Farke’s side showed renewed cohesion and battled bravely at home, keeping Newcastle largely at bay and looking the likelier side in the closing stages. For Newcastle, the match highlighted their need for firepower amid uncertainty over Isak’s future, while Leeds can take pride in their resilience and home form, leaving Elland Road fans optimistic for the season ahead.

I will certainly check any other of my posts. This site is wonderful for me
as I am 200 mile appox. from Beeston and Elland Road so kept in touch by M.O.M. forum.

Hope to get up there again one day
Thank you all for such pleasant words

One thing I do have is a mental aberration from time to time but it does not usually affect me putting pen to paper. So I cannot give any explanation. when discussing United with Pals it is quite rare for mor than just a mention of Rodon's name.
One thing United are not short of is Corner kick takers
Can't say anymore about it just hope I don't make a fool of myself again
I do the same thing, just an age thing. I wasn't being nasty just was interested to know who should be taking corners
