It has been a week for the history books at Elland Road, one where Daniel Farke and Leeds United have transformed a season of uncertainty into securing Premier League survival. Just days after a historic Monday night triumph at Old Trafford, Leeds kept their foot on the gas, sweeping aside a doomed Wolverhampton Wanderers to reach the 39-point mark. In doing so, they have almost certainly secured their top-flight status, leaving the likes of Nottingham Forest, West Ham, and an embattled Tottenham Hotspur to sweat out the relegation scrap.

The match began with a sense of ceremony as Dominic Calvert-Lewin made his 300th league appearance, and though he missed an early sitter, the Elland Road faithful didn’t have to wait long for the breakthrough. In the 18th minute, after Ethan Ampadu was denied by Wolves keeper Dan Bentley, James Justin reacted first, acrobatically turning the ball home from close range. Before the celebrations had even died down, it was two. Just two minutes later, Noah Okafor, the hero of the Manchester United win, showed his clinical edge again, latching onto a sublime Brenden Aaronson pass to double the lead.

The second half was absolute dross, but with a two goal lead, the hosts could afford to take their foot off the gas, and just do enough to stop Wolves from scoring. Rodrigo Gomes missed a golden opportunity to get the visitors back into the game, the biggest roar came from a bizarre officiating change. After assistant referee Mat Wilkes was forced off with an injury, fourth official Lewis Smith had to step in, leading stadium announcer Leigh Nicholson to joke that even the linesman was being "substituted." The mood remained jubilant, turning into pure euphoria in stoppage time when Wilfried Gnonto was hauled down by Hugo Bueno. Calvert-Lewin stepped up to mark his milestone match with a goal, burying the penalty to seal the three points.

Beyond the scoreline, the afternoon provided a tactical masterclass from Farke. The pre-match buzz centered on the "miracle" return of Joe Rodon to the bench, just 13 days after an injury that was supposed to sideline him until May. However, such is the depth Farke has cultivated that the star center-back wasn't even needed. James Justin, an £8 million recruit who was originally brought in as defensive cover, has emerged as the revelation of the season. His ability to dominate across the backline allowed Rodon a well-earned rest and symbolized the "next man up" mentality that has Leeds United looking not just safe, but formidable. Through a mix of grit, tactical flexibility, and a touch of Elland Road humor, Daniel Farke has steered Leeds into much calmer waters.

It was Weasel I was replying to who said that the fellow on talksport was expressing many of the sentiments that Cjay holds regarding Farke were being voiced on the show, and asked the question was this a new outlet, apart from Motforum that Cjay was using to vent his feelings. It was only near the end of the video that the name Smudge was mentioned and the equivalence came about.
