Season 1929-1930 Details
In 1929-30 Ray’s men finished fifth, with 46 points. It was the clubs best position achieved until the Revie days, thanks to a major improvement in defence where the experienced Edwards and Hart had been joined by full-back Jack Milburn. There was now genuine belief in the United camp that they could mount a serious title challenge.
