Re: Rugby League (not Superleague)

You know, you're right. So much less stress with Wakey in the Championship. I was really worried last year about them being relegated. But we have a new owner who is Wakey through and through. We have the re-build of Belle Vue, we've sold out season tickets and the fans are loving it, it's just on ...

Re: Scottish Football Thread

If the Jags do manage to win promotion and the Staggies ( hopefully) relegated that would mean with Livvy already down that would mean two less awful plastic pitches in the top league and that has to be a great thing , big game in the battle to avoid the play off on Wednesday night when The Perth S...

Re: Norwich away - Post match thread

About as much excitement as a five day test match, but the purists will no doubt say a job well done. If that is the case it makes me wonder why bother with two leg semi finals? It only benefits the team who came a fabulous sixth place.

Apart from gate revenue and tv money, obviously.

This will be my last post for 90 minutes minimum. I’m going to adopt the stance of the hindsighted wise. Ie wait until the game is over then point accusatory fingers at those posters who dared to criticise anything they might have witnessed.

Re: Scottish Football Thread

I'm posting this during the build up to our semi final, in the hope that no-one will pick this up. The other Glasgow team won their important game. I am, of course, referring to Patrick Thistle, who beat Airdrieonians to claim the right to meet Subhuman's Raith Rovers in the SPL play-off elimination...

Duffy starts - Delia's German lapdog clearly has no standards. What a great message to young mustard growers that sends - get pissed, commit a crime, straight back to work like nothings happened. Ooo, I do hope they wagged a stern finger at him.

Re: Super League

This constant merry go round of players swops and loans is making my head spin. I pity the poor old spectator, one week they’re shouting abuse at a player, the next they’re having to shout for him. It’s making a mockery of the sport. If you lose one week it seems like you just boot one player out an...

The beach by the railway line, through the tunnel? ... remember it well, that and the family picnics on the Bin. Dad worked a lot in Scotland for Marconi Space and Defence, (sonar engineer). This was an extended stay of over a year so the whole family went up. Not been back since my early twenties....

So, you are in charge of Scottish football, OB. :-D We'll have to find a way of including the Glasgow/Edinburgh clubs. Ironically enough, we were chatting to a Glaswegian couple, who happen to say good morning to us, a rarity in this area, something the majority of southerners don't do! Are you sur...

Burntisland. Know it well, my eldest (about 8 then) got a wicked jellyfish sting on that beach, hospitalised for two days. Later that same summer he spent overnight in Glasgow kids, after head butting the wall at an ice rink. The only way he could stop, he said. It never affected him though, he’s a ...

Re: Norwich pre match chat

I think we know exactly what to expect, if Farke called last weekends game plan “risky”: it’s back to square one. I didn’t see anything risky at all, just more of the same. So, slow build up, me-to-you-to-me passing along the back, then every forward on the field for the last 10 minutes when we are ...
