Re: O/T The Music Discussion Thread
Well our thread connoisseurs & Hold Steady specialists had me worried with their lukewarm reviews on the album Heaven Is Whenever, no need to be concerned as I really love the new album, yes their songs are more mellow but i do think with all HS albums they grow on you the more you hear them &am...

Re: TRANSFER RUMOURS THREAD
Would love to see someone like Nicky Shorey sign with us. Was on loan at Fulham after Christmas, and only had 9 appearances. Would be totally solid in the Championship. No word if he ever did sign with Fulham or not. Wages might be a bit high, but worth it to stop leaking goals because of WTF! laps...

Re: O/T The Music Discussion Thread
The man who (arguably) invented soul can be described as nothing other than a legend and that is a magnificent track. Great soul stuff :!: Sure you recommended me a soulful Charles album recently :?: need to rectify a missing legend on my shelves Anyway Hold Steady Heaven... & Electric Prunes c...

Lets do the full set mate Black Keys at Leeds Truckers in M********* Ash - Holmfirth (I presume) did you get tickets for The Hod Steady? Missed out on Porcupine Tree this time (priority elsewhere...) Re: O/T The Music Discussion Thread
The bummer about growing up in Ireland - apart from the wonderfully-euphemistically named "Troubles", the Catholic Church, prudish girls and the constant rain - was the lack of bands coming across. So I missed out on Alex Harvey, BeBop and a host of other heroes. When things quietened dow...

Re: O/T The Music Discussion Thread
I see your favourites are making a pilgrimage to Holmfirth later in the year 64 - i'll probably turn a blind eye myself but anyone who can't get enough of twin lead will surely find hand pulled Landlord and 10 minute solos too much to resist. Perhaps you can get the lads out from Worth Valley :wink...

Re: O/T The Music Discussion Thread
I have a Go-Betweens Compilation CD, which was what made me investigate his solo music. Currently listening to the Wakefield Warrior - Mr Bill Nelson (aka BeBop Deluxe) - fantastic music (though he does make Peter Gabriel in his Genesis days look extremely sensible). eIhSaxDVSM8 Had the privalige o...

Re: O/T The Music Discussion Thread
After the stripped back blues rock of The Black Keys, tonight I've returned to an old fave from a 1000 years ago. Played Mike Oldfields's Incantations. Not someone we've discussed on these pages if I recall. Anyone an Oldfield fan out there. Personally only bought some of his earlier work on vinyl ...
