Kepler,
A belated Happy Birthday to you.
You can keep your hangover mate - I've got one of my own and am likely to get another one in the morning.
Oh God I'll be glad when I've had enough!

Re: Happy Birthday!
Thanks everybody for the good wishes. I'm overwhelmed by the good thoughts 2.5 years after being on here before. I had a little too much hospitality last night (!) and my son who lives near Barnsley woke me with a Birthday phone call at 9 am (3 pm to you). So, fragility rules at the moment but I hav...

Re: Supporting Leeds
I started work 19/8/1963 at Wakefield Kirkgate station as a clerk. The Parcels Office senior clerk was a Leeds fan and lived in Leeds. He asked me along to a game in that year and, although I wasn't immediately hooked, soon became so. Understand that I grew up being a Featherstone Rovers fan, yet pl...

Re: O/T Newtown shootings
I don’t think the answer to this conundrum lies with gun control, although I do agree that ‘military-style’ weapons shouldn’t be allowed to ordinary citizens. Basically, you can kill someone with a steak knife or a cricket bat if killing is your intent. What’s wrong is that too many kids grow up wit...

I suppose I'm still as much of an arsehole as I ever was but, hey, I'm a Yorkshireman - what the hell does anybody expe...

Re: O/T The Music Discussion Thread
I love parts of ‘The Planet Suite’ by Gustav Holst (Jupiter – the bringer of jollity – especially “I vow to thee my country”, hymn number 294 in the Normanton Grammar School mini-Hymn Book and “Mars – the God of war” – all menacing in a 5/4 beat which would be hard to replicate). On a lighter note I...
