Black Night was a top 3 hit but didn't appear on the original 'In Rock' album

I bet most of the band members on that video above never knew that Speed King was the b-side?

In a feeble attempt to bring something uplifting into the fray, I offer up this old ditty (whose lyrics were probably written expressly for long-suffering Leeds fans):

But what you do have are four of the members of what is generally regarded as the 'classic' line-up and a guitarist, in Steve Morse. who makes Blackmore look like a busker.
I only started listening to DP when Morse joined 'em.
Music so wishes to be heard that it sometimes calls on unlikely characters to give it voice...

There are moments when Joni sounds sublime and there is nothng else you want to listen to.
There are also occasions when you want to strangle the warbling bird with the strange guitar voicings.
The former far outweigh the latter.
Get Hejira.
End of.
You'll thank me.

There are rumours of a new Robert Wyatt album this year, a collaboration between him, Gilad Atzmon and Ros Stephens.
