Can't recall doing so well on popmaster
36 in part one - only missed out on the Alexander O'Neal answer
33 in part two - Ace of Base hit Don't Turn Around eluded me & not a hope of getting the group Roman Holiday from 1983
I suspect a friend in Leeds may have got maximum points in at least one of the quizzes. I find out tomorrow on our journey to Birmingham
today I have been mostly listening to..............

Very Floyd-ish
"We're raised in a town
Where they jump on your back and sing
Leave an imprint on your shoulder blades
Wanna walk away
We're not all the same in this town

Where they jump on your back like children
And they leave you none
They will..."

Tiger Lily was her debut album after her split from the 10'000 Maniacs, lovely album as was her 2014 self-titled album which we have discussed previously during one of our album of the year polls

Great Curtis choices, Leon. I'm currently reading 'Travelling Soul', a biography of the great man written by his son. He's resisted the temptation to sugar-coat the story, so you get a balanced look at a man who was both genius and a tempestuous control freak. Recommended reading

Well I've had a listen to both the Midlake albums, Courage of Others once and Van Occupanther a couple of times - Van Occupanther the early winner for me, I like albums that play as a whole piece rather than a collection of individual songs - set me in mind of Roger Waters Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking - which is a great thing IMHO (a definite possible for the album chart next season!)
Re: today I have been mostly listening to..............
Courage needs more than two listens NW as I said previously Van Occupanther is a much more immediate accessible albumNorfolkWhite wrote:Well I've had a listen to both the Midlake albums, Courage of Others once and Van Occupanther a couple of times - Van Occupanther the early winner for me, I like albums that play as a whole piece rather than a collection of individual songs - set me in mind of Roger Waters Pros and Cons of Hitch Hiking - which is a great thing IMHO (a definite possible for the album chart next season!)
Good to have you on board the Midlake ship
'Amused To Death' is my favourite Roger Waters album. Mrs 64 is also a fan too
