And that's not Ormeau Road establishment I'm talking about...though on a hot day like today a nice glass of Porter would go down nicely

No one knows what caused this awful tragedy or what might have been done to prevent/slow down the fire. There does seem to be a lot of disgraceful point scoring going on with our politicians. As for Theresa May, she's damned if she does and damned if she doesn't at the moment, seen as an easy target by those who want her out.
My sentiments exactly. Our thoughts should be with those affected by this terrible event. There will be plenty of people called to answer for their decisions down the line. They will be from all political backgrounds no doubt.
I don't really want to keep posting on this topic because it's so upsetting. But, has anyone heard anything from the SNP about this tragedy? This is Britain, this is a British disaster, Scotland is part of Britain but nothing from Nicola Sturgeon.....no sympathy for the people lost and no sympathy for the people who have lost everything. Sorry if she has come out and offered support to London and I have missed it.....but if she hasn't, then it's disgraceful

Agreed Liggy.....greed is so poisonous and it seems to be getting worse.

I did have my first pint of Yorkshire Blackout whilst eating out with Mrs 64 last night
Yes under it's former name, now branded & brewed by The Great Yorkshire Brewery
I enjoy Guinness, unfortunately one of our favourites haunts The Copper Horse, Seamer don't serve the black stuff so I was offered Blackout as an alternative....a very soft smooth taste indeed
Here are some FACTS relating to the Grenfell tragedy.. 1. The block of flats was run not by the Council but by KCTMO. This body is made up of 8 TENANTS, 4 councilors and 3 independent members. 2. Labour hold the seat that the block is situated in. 3. Labour run the London Council who manage the under funded London Fire Service 4. Emma Coad the sitting Labour MP for that ward also sat on the KCTMO. 5. The advice to 'stay put' which Sadiq Khan has been so vocal about was given by the London Fire Service. 6. The decision to change contractors during the refurb was made by KCTMO. 7. The decision not to spend an additional £138k on fitting sprinklers was again KCTMO. 8. The decision to create ALMO organisation such as the KCTMO was made under the Right To Manage legislation passed in 2002 as part of the Commonhold and Leasehold Reform Act. 9. This was put in place to give leaseholders and tenants a greater say and the ability to self manage.
I also think Corbyn is overstepping the mark telling people to occupy empty houses, wanting to requisition empty houses etc. Whatever political party you are drawn to this is just wrong. People have paid for these houses and are paying council tax on them, if they choose to leave them empty that is their choice. I don't see Corbyn and his ilk offering their second houses!!
I'm going back to 505, I saw them at Sheffield and they were amazing.
