And Ayala elbowed Berardi in the head , he shouldnt have been on the pitch at the end (cant remember if that was before or after the pen)
Only saw that on the replay, straight red if the ref sees it.

Commentators when saying during the game that they apologised for the
pitchside microphone picking up some spicy language directed towards
Gary Monk... I wonder what that might have been??? :roflmao:

Definitely idiotic from Ayling but perhaps in mitigation I wonder where Ayala's foot was going to land as it was very close to Ayling's body and Ayling may have been expecting to be stamped on as well as being throttled to the ground.

faaip wrote:Especially as he was the summer signing most of us really thought top notch. Don't like Pablo, Samu and Gianni in the same side ...almost too much flair not enough battle. Todays result will come down to how we start, the longer it goes on goal less the more it'll favour Boro, and I really hope they don't score first.

I've a feeling Wolves will start strong favourites so we need something today
I thought our little men Roofe, Saiz, Alioski & Hernandez gave the Boro' giants the runaround with plenty of pace & movement, they all seem to be on the same wavelength which is a good thing.

I wasn't too concerned with TC's team selection although I was concerned how our defence would stand up to their task. Tbf I thought they held the Boro attack up superbly today. Jansson was outstanding, back to his best. The key for me was dropping O'Kane & reverting back to last season's midfield defensive midfield pair Phillips & Vieira, KP had a great game, got through so much work.

Lonner-7 . .not a great deal to do, but considering the shambles last time, much better.
Ayling-5 . . would have been more because he was solid, marked down for being a tit, no excuse, should know better.
Coopers-6 . .was ok, solid but not outstanding (sums him up at his best).
Jansson-9 . .Thought he was a rock, much much more like it, seemed to have fire in his belly.
Berardi-7 . .did well again, lacks going forward but handled the threat well.
Vieira-8 . .A warrior, undroppable imo, passing bit suspect, but miles better then O'Kane.
Phillips-8. .did really well, energy, protected the back 4, got forward.
Alioski-8.5 . .involved in both goals, worked hard, tired towards the end.
Saiz-8 . .unlucky not to score, scares defenders, works hard, linked well with the 2 either side and Roofe.
Pablo-9.5 . .a class above today, immense, at his best like today far to good for this league.
Roofe-9 . .excellent, movement, work rate, involved in both goals, great display.

Subs.
O'Kane-no time, was just there to be fresh legs.
Penny-Same as O'Kane.
Ekuban-6 . .closed down, ran VERY fast, good to have him back.

TC-9 . .got the team motivated, reunited the 3 musketeers, got rid of one of the 3 stooges, not going to get ahead of myself but that was a well organised, hard working, slick display and he deserves credit.

Not at all idiotic from Ayling!! manhandled round the throat and thrown to the ground I would have reacted the same!! :bear:
I'm going back to 505, I saw them at Sheffield and they were amazing.

May have something to do with him being greedy. I counted at least on five occasions where he made the wrong decision when it was easier to play & pass the simple ball to the runners around him

That could explain why you weren't even on the bench today. Perhaps it is time you became Berardi Bear!

Seriously though I think it would have been hard for anyone not to react as it wasn't even just a slight push and how the linesman doesn't spot that beggars belief. The sooner that teams can use video referees on penalty decisions the better as it could easily have turned the game. As it is it has made the difference between us being 6th and 7th and we all know how crucial that could be if that was the way things finished at the end of the season.

faaip wrote:Lonnergan - 7 - Would like a quicker release but easily our best option in goal
Ayling - 7 stayed in position more and never went missing
Beradi - 8 - Immense all game
Jansson - 7 Some key blocks but got a little overwrought at times
Cooper - 6 - Did ok
Alioski - 7 - Scored a good goal, some dodgy decisions later
Vierra - 8 - Massive upgrade on O'Kane a dominant DMF
Phillips - 8 - A number of attack killing tackles and an assist with a nice flick header though may have been heading at goal
Saiz - 8 - Quality yet again, always dangerous and demands a lot of defensive attention
Hernandez - 9 - Scored, and assist and dangerous set piece deliveries. Worked his socks off
Roofe - 9 - Clever feet, always linking up play, very little waste and gives defenders nightmares with his movement. Set up both goals without getting an assist

Ekuban - 6 - Real quick and once he gets game time (Don't ask me how that happens) he could be a good addition
O'Kane - 5 - No time
Pennington - 5 - Three minutes I think on the pitch
I thought Pontus held us together at the back, won countless headers, tackles & blocks

His best game of the season - 9/10

He rugby tackled a guy and gave away a penalty. Pure stupidity, Ayala could only dream of that outcome.
Never react like that in the box when the ball is live
I realised I was dyslexic when I went to a toga party dressed as a goat..
