60's: Can't Explain by the Who, No finer expression of teenage angst anywhere.
70's: Relay by the Who
80's: Face the Face by Pete Townshend
90's: English Boy by Pete Townshend
00's: A Man in a Purple Dress by the Who
There's a pattern here in case you missed it.
Having a hard time understanding why the Who don't get more love around here. They're an English band, after all, and quite simply the greatest rock band ever, especially live.
60's Willie the Pimp - Frank Zappa/Captain Beefheart
70's Hanging Around - The Stranglers
80's Gigantic - The Pixies
90's The Fun Lovin' Criminal - The Fun Lovin Criminals
00's The Swish - The Hold Steady

Some good picks
Cheers, not to dusty yourself, the excellent and under rated Mazzy Star though as much as I love the Dead South, think that may get vetoed as too late from 64. Unless we're allowing 2010 0n 64?
Dead South are touring here soon ..

In that case, I better not bother. Most of my picks last time never made it past pre-qualifying.
I listened to a few bands and songs I’d never heard of through nominations that might not have got through the first round, really enjoyed most of them.
Didn't realise we could have any song from the 2000's. I nominated this last time but it was 2010 I think so didn't qualify. It is one of the finest, sexiest tracks of this century and I'm considering replacing the hold steady
