Kalvin provides a steady influence in front of Pontus & Cooper who in turn feel happier with Casilla behind them between the sticks, KP's reading of the game has improved immensely. Having Bamford upfront is a plus too.
Phillips is such a unassuming likeable young man.
Doesn't look for any glory.
Never see him diving to the ground at the slightest touch.
No argument from him when he was sent off at Forest, in fact he showed humanity as he apologised to the player he had taken out prior to leaving the pitch.
Accepts his managers decision to sub with grace him when a tactical change is required.
A thoroughly nice proper footballer who wears the white shirt of Leeds with pride.
Indeed. Lots of things coming together at the right time, let's hope he and Bamford are both okay, that are making us into a good team again. Much prefer KP to Forshaw, Kiko has been a steady influence, Bamford scoring again, Ayling returning to form and the back 4/5/6 being settled.
Does seem a decent man, hopefully things won't go to his head as this season has been his breakout year whereas in previous seasons he has still been fighting for a starting place much of the time.
"When he plays well the level of the team increases greatly. He played in front of our centre-backs and adapted his position [dropped deeper in the second half]."
As good as Bielsa is making him, still boggles my mind when I think of his young he is for a primarily defensive player. Could even be a good shout for the England squad in a few seasons, I'd certainly take him over the likes of Dier even now.

Yes KP has just turned 23yo Moth, been saying for months on here that Phillips will play for England one day hopefully whilst he is playing for Leeds arguably our most consistent player of the season

Having watched the sending off back i can see why Kiko was where he was, his job is basically to make himself a passing option in those situations.
Cooper should have cleared his lines but for the life of me i cant understand why Phillips was trying to do what he did.
It looks like he was trying to control the ball and turn to his left in the same movement, why didnt he just pass it back to Kiko?
Big time Charlie move was not required at that stage.
And for the goal he shouldn't be going to the ball, he should be covering the big space beside him, thats poor defensive sense.
Saw Kiko getting criticised but imo i cant see why.
I said at the time and still stand by it - Kiko did what he had to. His defenders had gotten caught out and if things had been a bit different his actions would've been the difference between a 0-2 loss and a 1-1 draw. He took one for the team and I applaud him for it, it's a shame the team couldn't do that action justice.
For the goal, he closed down Basham as well he could when his full backs didn't track back. It was sod's only law the ball found that gap to his right.

Love Kalvin, but his passing percentage is really poor. If he wants to play PL, he needs to get that to around 85%.
Especially as most of his passes are to PJ or Coop, backwards or sideways. His poor pass that lost possession for the Brum goal of course
"Never debate an idiot, they'll only drag you down to their level and they have the advantage of experience"
Big improvement needed to play for England but equally only the same level of improvement he has already made this season - if he can continue then no reason why not.

He's now learning his trade under a top class coach, a great learning curve for all our current players
