It wasn't as bad as that Leon... he did shoot for goal but hit the corner post and then went out for a throw in. :hahaha:1964white wrote:Comedy time from Austin shoots, slices it & goes for a throw-in

Not as good a thread as last week but only because we lost.
This is still better than VLR for me.
Thanks to all contributors - much appreciated.

Re: Ipswich v Leeds - Team/Reports/Ratings
Sorry guys, my stream cut off so just ended up listening on the radio and wrapping Christmas presents.
Bad day at the office today, sounds like we lacked fitness and the intensity we showed against Derby. Still feel we have the makings of a good squad though. If we'd got a 2nd before they hit back and defended a little better who knows.

A defence made of balsa wood, four piss poor soft goals, how many more time are we going to take the lead and collapse like a house of cards....

For me Neil has to change the game set/both tactically and mentally
away from home. One thing with young 'un's they are fragile.
We all know that winning counts and so forth.
But home games should hopefully take care of themselves as in setting up your attacking formation. We should play a lone striker and swamp midfield/or push an extra defender in away games .A few games until start of new year.

Agree we need to play one upfront Paddy Doukara is a lump/passenger & totally ineffective away from ER. Redfern certainly needs to find a formula to stop the rot on our away travelspaddy parrott wrote:For me Neil has to change the game set/both tactically and mentally

It seems to be so predictable, get a great win at home and then capitulate away....against anybody ! Frustrating, but I suppose one win in 2 will keep us up ! The crisp passing game is great to watch but without defensive awareness and ability to adapt it will lead to being totally undone at times....such as today. Hopefully it will be back to 3 points next week as Fulham are S.... !

Not particularly happy reading this week, but thanks for the commentary!
Agree we need a plan B, and perhaps more of a 4-5-1 would work better away from home - I think Antenucci would work as a lone striker and having the extra man in midfield ought to give us more defensive cover.
Interesting that Pearce wasn't given the captain's armband back today, he's definitely behind Cooper and Bellusci now... Other reports said no one really had a good game. Shame for Warnock being involved in two of their goals considering how consistent he's been so far this term.
Hopefully Redders can get the lads fired up for next week and this doesn't knock the young'uns confidence too much.

Maybe just maybe that X-track man could be Belluschi as
Martyn said try him in front of two centre backs.
For me Adryan could push further over.
Therefore we might keep some pressure of backs.

Yeah, I think Bellusci would make a decent holding mid - his distribution is good enough and it would give us that extra bit of steel that I think we're missing slightly.paddy parrott wrote:Maybe just maybe that X-track man could be Belluschi as

Re: Ipswich v Leeds - Team/Reports/Ratings
Before we beat ourselves up we do have to admit that we were up against a very decent Ipswich side that are well organised, playing to a team plan, and are at a much more settled and advanced stage than us. This season will be all about ups and down, the highs of last week and the lows of this. If we play as well as we can we can give any team in this division a game but if we drop below our best most teams in this division will beat us.

I like that Redders doesn't tend to make excuses - he knows where we are weak and wants to address that. It's a shame we (probably) won't have a transfer window in January as I do feel a couple more strong players are required to see games out. However, it could be a good thing for us, as this team will only get better the more they play together.
