"Lack of quality"

Well we had 4 years of being afraid of making signings in case Bielsa walks. Such an unsustainable way of running a club.

Players of that quality will cause any teams problems. Forshaw for Klich was a sensible sub for me to maintain energy in the middle - he did reasonably well when he came on. I would never have started Klich and Rodrigo as a pair. Really surprised Forshaw didn’t start, but having said that we created enough to win. Our issue is finishing if we cannot score we can move the pieces around all day.
I'd have played Shackleton to match the pace of Barnes.

Would have probably brought Summerville for Harrison if Bamford wasnt fit which he clearly wasn't.

Dallas in cm with Klich and then Rodrigo and Gelhardt off the bench.

Don't get me wrong I am encouraged by the performance but concerned that even when we play well we get nothing and game are fast running out.

He can't magic new players out of nowhere, and the team is basically a very good one.

Talk about being defeatist before a ball has been kicked.......
same squad but why oh why play players out of position this not only weakens the team but also the position left has to be filled with a player not as good. Where was Forshaw our only true holding player. Why is Firpo still playing he is NOT a left back.

I do not care for any other fans who just say "another PJM post" GET REAL and start to want a lot more of this club, of this team , of this board

Thought for the positives Marsch did get key things wrong today.

He did nothing to try and fix the Barnes threat.

His substitutes were largely wasted, Forshaw and Roberts when losing, really?
Bamford clearly wasn't fit.

Bamford was just there to gives the players a lift.
Personally I think he has been out too long to make much of an impact on our season now.
Marsch OUT

Football has undergone a process of bielsification; pressing and possessing, passing rather than dribbling, intercepting high up the field rather than making last-ditch tackles, are in vogue.

Forshaw was injured apparently hence being on the bench.

Marsch did say that we have a lot of players carrying knocks because of being overloaded and played when injured.

Struijk to was a doubt today.

Wonder how many of our squad are struggling?

Dallas is he has been injured for ages Bielsa said so and Ayling mentioned to.

In conclusion a good performance but we lost because we didn’t take our chances. Nothing has changed per se other than we restricted the number of opportunities the opposition had.
Next two games will probably decide our fate - if we play like that and get an early goal we will win them hands down. But we are at a stage where playing well means nothing unless we get points.
It will help if Brentford, Norwich and Watford keep losing. Burnley and Everton are still in the relegation mix despite games in hand. So not doom and gloom by any means.

Agreed, don't normally like depending on results from other games but now I will be.
If results go our way today nothing much will change, hopefully burnley, newcastle & villa lose, norwich draw would be good because I'm confident of going above brentford.

Summerville all day long, still don't rate roberts at this level.

Was this proof that we were wrong and the reason Bielsa didn't change tactics is not because the players couldn't but because he was stubborn?

Despite the defeat it was our best performance for ages.

First time we have had an xG against of less than 1 since Norwich end of October

If we keep playing like we did today, eventually we will catch a break and get some luck. Just gotta stay positive rather than feel sorry for ourselves.

Yep. I said all along he was too stubborn to change and he would have taken us down on 'his' way if he could. Rio said the same thing.

Still don't get why he left Roberts on.

Confused the players having a player on they couldn't pass to and probably made his injury worse.

Would have been better playing with ten men (insert joke here)

I didnt think the players could adapt tbf.

They did today and that was impressive and does make.the claim that Bielsa was right not to change quite hard to backup.

Still find it odd some of our fans claim he wasn't stubborn, he is famously stubborn.
