Frustrating game. Nothing seemed to drop for us. Results ware all over the gaffe today which shows what the Championship is about. We need more drive in CM the patterns of play became too predictable second half. The gulf in class was evident tho.

Meslier 7: A clean sheet means a good nights sleep. One cracking save and distribution good. A comfortable days work.
Ayling 6: Didn't have too much defending to do and got into some good attacking positions but still frustrated me at times.
Rodon 7: Did his job well.
Struijk 7: A few shaky moments first half but recovered well. Tried to make things happen with balls over the top. Not always accurate
Shackleton 8: Him and Willy smashed it down the left. Another brilliant display.

Ampadu 7: Steady as usual. Will he ever keep a shot low?
Gray 7: Brilliant first half but he does fade as the game goes on. Caught in possession nearly cost us. I think him and Amps would benefit from another Midfielder in the middle.

Summerville 8: Another good game from Jimmy. Some good penetrating runs and some good one-twos just not our day infront of goal.
Rutter 6: Some good link up play first half but frustrating for most of the second including that chance.
Gnonto 9: Ran them ragged for most of the game just more care needed with the final pass. A few stray passes to boot.

Piroe 5: Very quite game. I must admit i didn't watch him closely enough to know if he was taking up intelligent possessions but the players seemed to avoid passing to him.

Spence : Looked lively.

Just listening to Merson talk about Chelski in the background and it could be us he's talking about. Shame its now 2 weeks for the lads to get this off their chests but they need to start finding some consistency.

Ayling - 5.5 - Gave the ball away a lot and ran out of gas about an hour in
Rodon - 7.5 - Solid.
Struijk - 7 - See Rodon. Very happy with the play of our center backs today.
Shackleton - 8 - He and Gnonto make a great tandem on the left. Going to enjoy watching them together this year. Young man is really stepping up.
Ampadu - 7 - He and Gray controlled the midfield for a large swath of the game.
Gray - 7 - See Ampadu
Summerville - 7 - Played well but found himself in the middle a bit too much, making it necessary for SW to defend only 2/3 of the pitch
Rutter - 5.5 - We needed finishing today and didn't get it from either of our ostensible goal scorers.
Gnonto - 8.5 - He and Shackleton were the two best players on the pitch today.
