News Article January Transfer Window 2024: Who Will Leave and Who Will Stay?

Post by YorkshireSquare »

This year’s January transfer window is drawing closer. Leeds are most likely to make a few changes to the team. After the relegation and this summer’s transfer window, things have been stirring. The summer transfer window resulted in some changes to the group, and it could seem like this January is going to be no different. Check out some of the players who might be leaving temporarily or permanently this winter.

There’s massive anticipation for this season’s January transfer window. The summer transfer window was quite the event for Leeds as multiple players left the club either on loan or permanently. After the relegation, several players have requested a move away from the club, including the young player Wilfried Gnonto. So, it’ll be interesting to see how this winter’s transfers are going to play out. It can become quite decisive as the club is competing in the Championship play-off positions in the hopes of a promotion back to the Premier League.

It’s certain that Leeds fans will follow the development closely. Several months before the actual transfer window, there are a few names that come up as potential go’ers. It’s already possible to place a wager on who will stay and who will go on betway mobile. The transfer window is one of the favourite betting opportunities for fans who like to bet. With Betway mobile, it’s easier than ever to bet directly on your phone, follow the development of the transfer market and keep track of changing odds and the latest news. Some of the names that might be of interest when it comes to betting on transfers are these four current Leeds players.

Wilfried Gnonto

As already mentioned, Wilfried Gnonto brought some attention to himself during the summer window transfer period as he requested a move from Leeds after the relegation. Several clubs were and are still interested in the 19-year-old forward. Everton placed a bid on the young Italian player, but the bid was rejected by his club. Several Italian clubs, Inter, Napoli and Juventus, have all shown interest in Gnonto. It’s highly anticipated that there will be bids on the young player again this January, but whether or not Leeds will agree to a transfer is the real question.

Crysencio Summerville

Another player who has been gaining a lot of attention is the 21-year-old Dutch player Crysencio Summerville. Clubs like Bournemouth, Everton and Burnley have all shown interest. As for now, Summerville is a central Leeds player with a record of second-most goals this season. Therefore, it might be difficult to let him go. But if a large bid should be presented this January, it might be hard for the club to decline.

Joe Gelhardt

It’s somewhat the other way around with the 21-year-old Joe Gelhardt. This British forward was welcomed with much anticipation of his potential success. He has struggled to perform, and so he has been spending quite some time on the bench. It’s gotten to the point where he’s not featured in the squad, which is probably a strong indicator that he might be moving on sometime soon.

Leo Fuhr Hjelde

Another player who seems like he might be on loan or permanently transferring soon is the young Norwegian Leo Fuhr Hjelde. He was signed in 2021 but hasn’t been getting much playing time. In total, he has only made eight appearances and only once in the Championship. Last season, he was loaned out from January 2023 for six months, so there are various facts that indicate that Hjelde might be transferring this January or perhaps loaned out once again.
