Longstaff would be decent summer business. And while not being the most exciting signing, certainly fits the bill a lot better than some of the overseas gambles we've taken. Would rather have him than Roca, for example.

Given that our squad will be light on numbers next season, it makes sense to take another look at some of the loanees. They'll all be looked at individually. Some left on better terms than others. Farke does have a relationship with most of them having worked with them in preseason. So, nobody better to assess who's worth considering in terms of ability and character.

A few have plenty of time on their contract. If promoted, it's the clubs choice what happens with them. Aaronson, Wober, Harrison would be worth considering. But, like I said, Farke and the club know them better than any of us.

I don't know about his stats but from what i remember Newcastle went through a bad run when he was out injured last season and had a better record when he played helping them get into the champions league. He's not an exciting signing but a step up.

Don't know much about Longstaff but like you say stats aren't the be all and end all. If we look at Gruev and Kamara then their attacking stats would likely be very poor but they are doing a great job for us. If we looked at Archie Gray's stats at right back then they probably wouldn't be too great. Not much in the way of assists or goals and not the greatest when defending 1v1.
