I hadn't considered that possibility yet, BB, as my brain just always jumped right to that final match against Soton being for all the proverbial marbles, as would only be fitting given how each of the last two seasons wrapped up. Re: Our total end of season points prediction
I agree in that I also don't think Southampton will have any automatic place to play for by then, unless they go an a crazy run which would have to include beating IpswichBarlow Boy wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 9:54 pm Southampton will be confirmed in the playoffs by then, will rest players for those play offs and we will run out comfortable winners

Re: Our total end of season points prediction
Leeds Live ran a run-in predictor this morning, I’m not a super-computer but in two simulations I had Leeds finishing on 100 both times.

That’s a very good point regarding the play offs BB, hadn’t thought of that scenario.Barlow Boy wrote: ↑Tue Mar 12, 2024 9:54 pm Southampton will be confirmed in the playoffs by then, will rest players for those play offs and we will run out comfortable winners

Re: Our total end of season points prediction
Not comfortable predicting points totals, this is the Championship where anything can and does happen. Ditto Leeds Utd. Yes, we probably are the best team in the league, but the best team doesn't always go up. Perhaps I am pre-conditioned to be nervous of crowing too soon (seeing lots of HMS Piss The League memes on social media), I've been a fan a long time, but I'll shout out loud after the Saints game if things have gone our way. Just not before it!

Yes , absolutely
Re: Our total end of season points prediction
101 points is now the maximum with 3 home and 2 away fixtures remaining.
Possible of course but is it likely ?

101
Five wins and promoted as champions
Leicester and Ipswich will slip up again.

Re: Our total end of season points prediction
96 seems the obvious answer atm, which was my original prediction. Every single year up to this year that second at least

Anyone predicting 97 points or more sadly got this one wrong.
That's 23 of you by the way.

93 points is now the maximum.
Not looking good but at least we'll finish above Southampton and who know we might even still finish 2nd.

Re: Our total end of season points prediction
Aye - cannot rule out any of the potential endings just yet. The end of this season has not lacked for drama and very likely there is plenty more to come for us.
Re: Our total end of season points prediction
So we finished on 90 points which was slighty less than anticipated but the season ended as predicted with non of the contenders able to keep their incredible runs going and get to 100 points.Jammy 07 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 11, 2024 8:05 pm In my opinion all our away fixtures are tough and then we have Hull & Southampton at home as well. Add in the inevitable slip up in a couple of games we should win and it's easy to see how it might go as I've predicted.
Pressure does weird things to people remember.
Still a very good season overall which should not be forgotten.
Somehow though it feels feel like we've been relegated which is crazy and shows how we as fans can lose our heads and get caught up in all the emotion so just imagine how the players feel.
