Only one result through 2 games says a lot, 17 draws so far

A mixture of the kookaburra ball and rain delays I reckon, although what excuse Yorkshire can have for drawing that last match I don't know.

Our bowlers struggle to bowl out the opposition when we are in a commanding position, similar to previous seasons.

Our batting will diminish once Lyth loses his early season fine form, and Root & Brook head off to play for their main club, England.

ECCB are actively encouraging innings building. I think there's more points for a draw this year, though only caught the back end of that discussion on you tube so could be wrong.

Already looking like a draw in Hampshire, Warwicks 455 all out and Hants 260-4 as we go toward tea on the third day. Good to see Fletcher Middleton finally hit his first century, 22 year old prospect in his sophomore season

A marathon innings from Glamorgan captain Sam Northeast frustrated Yorkshire’s victory bid on the final day with a little help from the weather.

Glamorgan were precariously placed on 372-7, 74 runs ahead with three wickets remaining when lightning interrupted play in the last session.

Northeast batted more than six and a half hours for his unbeaten 142 while Colin Ingram hit 113.

Yorkshire spinners Joe Root and Adam Lyth took two wickets each.

Yorkshire main problem seems to be when they score a high innings & are in command, they fail to bowl out the opposition in their second innings

With this ball you need dodgy wickets to get results. So a victory is unlikely if there are runs in a wicket.

Lets have your lifetime world 11 folks, not necessarily greatest just the 11 that have bought the most pleasure ... should be interesting. (try to pick a proper team with openers/middle order/alrounders/keeper/bowlers etc)

Barry Richards - Hants/SA
Gordon Greenidge - Hants/WI
David Gower - Leics/ENG
Alvin Kallicharran - Warwicks/WI
Derek Randell - Notts/ENG
Richard Hadlee - Notts/NZ
Alan Knot - Kent/ENG
Malcolm Marshall - Hants/WI
Dennis Lillie - Northants/AUS
Jimmy Anderson - Lancs/ENG
Muttiah Muralitharan, Lancs/SL

Would be close to mine but I reserve the right to change it if I've forgotten anyone ... sorry no Yorkshiremen as far as I know ..

Another high scoring draw for Hants .... going to be long season for us I think. Our strength is our attack but, with the Rosebowl as flat as apancake atm and the kookaburra balls, that's been nullified.. Hoping for a good season from Tom Prest and the other Hampshire youth

Hants started on fire last season, not apparent in 2024.

When I was 2 we moved to Ash Vale, which is in Surrey and I stayed there till I was 22. But the postal address was Ash Vale, Aldershot,Hants. My dad played first class cricket and loved playing and watching the game, he asked me very early, if I wanted to watch Hants or Surrey live, Dad as a motorcyclist (never learned to drive) didn't really want to do London so Portsmouth/Southampton was easier to get to and we became Hants members for the next 20 odd years... I started being pillion from a very early age, 5/6. First Hants game at around 7 in 69 ...

That's a fantastic team.

Picking my best XI would be a tough ask for me.

not many would have Derek Randell in an all time 11 but a great flamboyant batsman and what a fielder ...

Would loved to have included Botham, but Hadlee was just so consistently great, Viv would be a better three than Gower, but Gower in full flow was pure artistry... Lillie I could happily replace with Ambrose, Roberts, or Holding, in fact Whispering Death would have got it had I not felt the need to play an Aussie

I've seen them all live bar Jimmy A,

I've seen them all live bar Jimmy A,
Randall was a brilliant, exciting batsman.

Garry Sobers, Lance Gibbs, Wes Hall, Ken Barrington, Geoff Boycott & Freddie Trueman would be in my Best XI.
