I dare say you’re going out late tonight Cat
Saved me from feeling I’d messed up as I wouldn’t ever have got to that total. No clue today.
Congrats

Re: Saturday Racing, 27th April: Sandown Park (1st race at 1.50pm)
I couldn’t have won on todays results whatever my staking plan tbh. I would’ve had to top £600 ish. No chance.
Yes it’s open to a last day punt at a big price to steal it. I watched that 5.20 and that Ike horse absolutely bolted in. Was cantering the whole race tbh.

Well, my word
Up until and including the 4.10 it looked like, Az was going to come out on top. Then, Nick (and Mrs64) finds the winner of the 4.45 which puts him a £10 in front and the seeming winner........at the time I had to go out. I haven't been home that long and looked to see what happened in the 5.20 last....and wow, I find that I managed to bag the winner at 22/1, which meant a nice £590 payday, resulting in a £290 profit and a subsequent overall win. So, a case of last to top in one race
Profit also on the day for Nick and Mrs64.
Losses of varying amounts for Foxy, 64 and Az.
Commiserations to long time leader, Foxy (a Leeds-esque implosion towards the end).....I've left Shaun on the board to avoid having to award you the wooden spoon, Foxy.
Unlucky, Nick and Az.
So at the end of the MOT 2023/24 NH Saturday Racing Comp it's:
Final Totals
Muppet the Cat – £604.36
Lufc1304 - £531.32
Azkal - £521.11
Mrs 64 - £466.07
1964white - £457.50

ShaunL - £325.15

Never in doubt my Foxy friend ........let you get a couple of hundred ££££ out in front, knowing that I'd find that elusive big winner on the last day
Did suggest that you look over your shoulder

Re: Saturday Racing, 27th April: Sandown Park (1st race at 1.50pm)
Indeed, 64
However, if you don't go for it you don't give yourself a chance of winning.
Fine margins, as when I went out I was £220 in the hole, but just the one winner turned everything on its head.
On the last day, when the chips are down, going £2.50 ew or £5 means you're unlikely to come last, but also you're unlikely to win. At the end of the day it's a competition so the aim must be to try and win. Obviously, I say that on the basis that it isn't real money .....as other than a £5 on the GN I never bet on the horses

I went for £5 wins on decent priced horses, just two good winners may have been enough to win the contest, four of my eleven nags were placed.
It would help if I could pick winners The reason I stopped betting many moons ago.

Wow, Muppet, what a winner and what a way to claim the title!! Ballsy as f**k, mate, that monster at the end pulled you out of a big hole. Well done!! Given how bad I was at the start of the season, I'm happy with the runner up spot. Thanks for running the book, now on to my nemesis, the flat....
